Location was a great spot, just a very short walk to the local pub, Molly's, and a great seafood restaurant, Cloverfox, with a nice convenience store nearby too. If we ever make it back to that area, we will definitely be staying there again!

Location was fantastic! Walkable to local pub and groceries. Very close to Connemara National Park with the best hike I’ve taken in my life, and to Kylemore Abbey. Also the house setup was ideal for families - lots of bedrooms/bathrooms, room to play outside, and visits with lots of farm animals capped it off. House was super clean and even came with a cat!

Cozy, larger than I expected. Clean and bright. Excellent location in an amazing area, though having a car certainly helped with that! Liz was prompt and helpful in her replies.

Nice big house. A few quirks with the light switches (you'll see if you stay here) but an ideal place for our group of cyclists, plenty of space and all the things we needed. BUT there's a bit of friendly farm-life wandering about, so close the front door if you don't want goats standing on the dining table, or small friendly dogs wandering in.

The location in Letterfrack was great! We could walk in to the village at night for drinks and dinner. Lovely.
Set in beautiful gardens in the heart of Connemara, the romantic Abbeyglen Castle Hotel has tennis courts, a spa bath and stunning views of Clifden and the Twelve Bens mountains.

The property is immaculate and the rooms and service are excellent. The welcome reception was especially enjoyable. We will certainly return when we get a chance.

Lettergesh, Glasilaun and Dogs Bay beaches are all beautiful. Connemare National park / Diamond Hill walk are great for exercise and scenery, (weather permitting). If the weather lets you down, head for the pub for a nice quite pint.

We stayed in Letterfrack for the Tour of Connemara cycle.
We stayed in Letterfrack for the Tour of Connemara cycle. The holiday cottage accommodation was lovely, very clean and spacious, and walking distance to the pub / restaurant. On the Saturday night, the staff in Veldons helped to accommodate our expanded party, which included a small dog. the food was excellent, the service even better. And lovely atmosphere afterwards for a few drinks and music. We will come back...

Lovely bar food in Letterfrack, great chowder.
Lovely bar food in Letterfrack, great chowder. We visited the woodwork college and viewed wonderful work done by the students. There’s a great little book shop down behind the college with a delightful cafe in a lovely row of houses which was a Quaker village.
We spent about an hour in Letterfrack National Park and could have stayed longer. It’s very well laid out and organised but do bring bug spray.
The jewel in the crown has to be Kylemore Abbey. We spent hours there as did lots of other visitors and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
You will not be short of anything to do in Letterfrack. Clifden is also nearby as is Cleggan from where you get the boat to Inisbofin, a delightful island well worth a visit.

So many good places to visit if you like walking , swimming, hiking. We recommend a visit to Lettergesh beach and Glassillaun (Co.Galway) beach.
A little further away North (drive via Leenaun towards Louisburgh and return southwards down the coast) is a small beach called Cross Beach (or Killen Beach, depending on who you ask), where we found a many thousand year old forest and the peat it was growing in, all half-buried on the beach. There were at least fifty tree stumps and huge areas of peat, all of which get covered up again with every high-tide. An amazing and memorable visit. On another day you can visit the smaller Coral Beach beyond Clifden, where the sand is made up of billions of tiny pieces of coral and millions of tiny curious sea-shells. We also climbed Diamond Hill, at Letterfrack. A marked trail with a choice of three levels of walking difficulty, The summit of diamond hill is only a few hundred metres, but the views are amazing when you get there. A good three hour walk/hike, if you climb the hill. Shorter options available too & sign-posted.

Visited the National Park Visitor Centre - interesting...
Visited the National Park Visitor Centre - interesting buildings and delighted to watch a Dipper alongside the weir. Didn't have enough time to walk the trails but would like to next time. Easy walk up a slight incline from the village, past the Rangers office to the Visitor Centre - you don't have to walk up the road that visitors' vehicles take.
Veldons was booked out with two large groups. Maybe best to book in advance. Ate in Cloverfox. Tasty food and lovely, friendly staff. Music in Veldons afterwards. Heard that the Guinness was good!
Lots of amenities in the village - restaurants, pups, craft shop, large grocery, hardware shop, GMIT School of Furniture, Connemara National Park Visitor Centre. Short drive to Renvyle Beach and Kylemore Abbey.
A very nice location and attentive staff. This hotel is an old fashioned version of the “Country House Hotel” and has been in the owners family since the 1960’s. Parts have been updated but you get the feel of the previous decades of renovation in different parts of the house. A nice touch were the lovely fresh flowers in our room overlooking the bay. The restaurant had a nice selection, there is a choice of a two or five course set menu and there was a good breakfast as well.
Super location. the view from the house location is second to none. It is also possible to walk to Letterfrack Village from the house. It is just over 3km and therefore very manageable if you are used to walking.
The house is a new build with all mod cons and underfloor heating, therefore it is very comfortable and warm.
We also were given some Oysters to taste as this property is part of the Oyster farm - that was a nice touch. You won't taste fresher Oysters!
Location was fantastic! Walkable to local pub and groceries. Very close to Connemara National Park with the best hike I’ve taken in my life, and to Kylemore Abbey. The location is priceless! Next to Connemara National Park. Very nice farm and is full of cute pigs and lambs. It was out perfect weekend getaway! Carmel and Fiona were very nice and helpful with us. They even provided us extra towel.
I would definitely recommend this place to whoever is looking to have a great place to stay
Everything! The location was beautiful, the room was a great size and very quiet, and the staff were wonderful--very friendly and informative. Great food in the restaurant as well (we had both breakfast and dinner there). Honestly, it was the highlight of my entire trip to Ireland. I wish I could live here!
We had a lovely family stay in the cottage. The location is truly astonishing, isolated in the middle of the Connemara coast, with a private beach and easy access to walks around the area.
The house is big enough for 6 adults, the kitchen is fully equipped and each room has its private bathroom.
Perfect little cottage. Bigger than it looks in the pictures and has everything you need. Lovely location and garden. I highly recommend the Snappysnappycrab open crab sandwiches on Letterfrack pier. Liz was easy to communicate with and supplied great local information. Thank you Liz
The host was great and meet us at the property with the keys. He collected the keys at 1:00 am when we had to leave for the airport. The house was beautiful, clean, cozy and a great locations. I loved the goats in the backyard at night! It lended to the true Ireland experience.
Host (Liz) was fantastic - providing us with great information about nearby restaurants, sites and activities. The cottage was immaculate and included everything one could possibly need for a short or longer stay. Great views of the mountains and convenient to downtown Letterfrack.
Self catering , so we made our own food . Usually we would find a welcome pack on arrival - it was a cool time of year , not even the makings of a fire were left - no heat on . This I felt did not replect Ireland of a thousand welcomes - just very mean and shabby.
Great location and property. Very new, clean and comfortable. Great views of the Connemara National Park mountain range. Property was on the water with a nice deck for good weather days. Owner was very helpful in pointing out activities.
A lovely quiet location a minutes walk from Letterfrack village, we had the best sleep of our trip! Clean and spacious, Sandy my dog loved it too, we will be back! Right beside the National Park which was ideal for us too!
Clean, Comfortable Large house beside the farm. Easy accesible to beautiful destinations in Connemara. Approx 45 mins drive to Dogs Bay beach. 5 mins drive to Kylemore abbey. Highly recomment this holiday house.
