Set in Matsukawa, 24 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, ワールドカリーの館 すぱいすろーど offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Such friendly price and homy atmosphere and great curry. We had dinner and breakfast. Mango Lassie reminded me of India. Of course it was Indian brand. The owner is very friendly and a hard worker. He loves Azumino area and we too loved the place because of his explanation. Owner recommended children"sbookmuseum was awesome, too! Highly recommended

Centrally located in the Echo Land district, Hakuba Echo Hotel and Apartments offers comfortable rooms with mountain views. Hakuba Matata is an awesome lodge! The rooms are cozy but that's the Japanese style. The common room is super inviting and a great space to hangout and relax. The lodge was super clean, quiet, and has an awesome breakfast! There are two super close bus stops for all the ski resort shuttles and the main food strip is a relatively short walk away. Would definitely come back and stay for our next ski trip!

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. Extremely accommodating and friendly owners who went out of thier way several times during our stay. Firstly, we didn't have a booking to visit the Christmas candle light up at the Karuizawa Kogen Church but they offered to give us a lift anyways to try and visit which we did and somehow managed to get in. Secondly, they insisted on fetching us after dinner which was really kind of them. Lastly, we had a two year old travelling with us and they allowed him to play with a bowling pin set in the dining area. Lastly breakfast was a huge spread and you could see the huge effort they put in the dishes and presentation.

Hakuba Tokyu Hotel is an 8-minute drive from JR Hakuba Station and a 3-minute drive from Happo-One Bus Terminal. A free 2-way shuttle to both destinations is provided upon prior reservation. Enjoyed my first time in Hakuba experience. The hotel, staff and breakfast were lovely. Thank you!

Located in the centre of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations. This is a true Japanese cultural and cuisine experience that was the highlight of our holiday. The room with private Onsen and private bathroom was exceptional and much better than we imagined for a traditional Raikan and the Onsen experience was worth pushing our comfort zones for. The culinary offerings were incredible (even if many were not to our taste) they clearly pride themselves on perfection, symmetry and are proud of their cultural roots. Some of their dishes have been presented to the imperial household and wearing traditional clothing and private intimate dining you simply couldn’t ask for a truer traditional & cultural experience at the highest end. The Raikan bus to the snow monkeys is only a 5 minute drive and they ask for a small contribution to cover their costs. The private Onsen on the terrace was an absolute treat.
