Royal Hotel is in the heart of Battambang city, within easy access from various tourist attractions. The staff is kind and helpful. One man speaks French. All the amenities are there. We arrived before the check-in time and our rooms were ready so we could leave our suitcases earlier. Our mattresses were very comfortable and the A/C was silent. Our rooms were clean. Behind the hotel, there are 2 restaurants Nary’s kitchen and Coconut Lyly, which also offer cooking classes. So you can eat well and for cheap, 2 steps from the hotel! Good point after a day traveling around. The market is just beside. The hotel also offers motorcycles renting. However they didn’t have enough for us, we arrived after 12:00pm. We went to First cycle, hundreds meters from there, recommendation of the hotel. It was great. If we come back to Battambang, we’ll stay there again.

A lovely oasis of calm - beautiful rooms, great pool and friendly staff who were very helpful organizing a tuk-tuk tour for us. The room was especially nice - very clean and comfortable. The staff helped sort out any minor issues we had and we really enjoyed our stay.

Everything was spotless and really comfortable. The staff are also amazing, as seems to be the case in all of Cambodia everyone is really friendly and helpful. I thought I’d left my headphones in the room when we checked out and the staff went above and beyond checking the room high and low and even calling me to let me know what was going on. It turns out I’d thrown them in the bottom of my bag in a hurry… but it just shows the kindness of people, I can’t thank them enough for being so helpful! Also, if you want a tour whilst you’re in Battambang then try and find Mr Dara. He’s the best tour guide we’ve had in SE Asia and he usually hangs around in the centre of town and outside the hotel.
