The location cannot be better! It is quiet, safe yet just a short drive to the beaches, restaurants and Cahuita National Park. We took the great advice from other travelers to stay in Cahuita area rather than Puerto Viejo!! There are great restaurant options in Puerto Viejo but too busy and run down for our liking. We love our stay at Plaza Tucanito where allow us to explore beautiful beaches nearby and plenty of dining options in Cahuita town. Cahuita National Park is definitely a must visit! We went in the morning and saw tons of wildlife and enjoyed the calm and beautiful Playa Blanca! We also enjoyed Playa Grande en Cahuita : )

The room is beautiful and from your bed you can see the mountains and morning mist rise from the valley. There are loads of spaces to sit and relax in the beautiful nature of the area. There is a well equipped Shala also with great views, the best place ever to do yoga. We also had a tour of the fruit forest which was I enjoyed and was really interesting. Marie can also arrange for you to have a yoga class and we had a lovely Tibetan singing bowl healing. A unique place to stay and I loved it

The place was very quiet, between threes and bushes, we even had a sloth on the three next to our place. The place was very clean, and the garbage taken out daily, towels changed every other day. The owner also lives on the property, very helpful.

It wasn’t too busy with a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious as was the food in general and the cocktails (including our welcome one!). The room had some frills - 2 fridges and very comfy new beds. We loved hanging out with the team and listening to the local Calypso band. I’d highly recommend this place for a laid-back low key beach stay.

The apartment on the ground floor was roomy and comfortable, and we appreciated the air conditioning to take the edge off of the humidity and help dry our clothes. The Buddha café across the street had a complementary drink and we ate two meals there because it was such a great view and excellent menu. Also, the staff who met us at the Pavone pier and also met us at Tortugero boat taxi dock were excellent at directing us and getting us to the right places. They also recommended a tour company for kayaking and hikes that we used and we were very happy with their services as well.
