Owners allowed us to drop our bags early and we could wait in the lobby until the room was ready. After an overnight sleeper train this was very much appreciated. Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Alte Bäckerei Königstein Aparthotel und Café provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. The property features mountain and river views, and is 1.5 km from Königstein Fortress. The aparthotel has family rooms. Location was perfect. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond for us. Short walk from train station and the walking track up to the fortress is just across the road. Breakfast was excellent too. One of my favourite places I can remember staying. Staff were generous with their time and kind about helping us work out checking in late and charging our electric car. We very much enjoyed the stunning sauna which we booked for personal use both nights we stayed. The kitchen was very well equipped also, everything brand new, high tech and spotless.
