The friendliest staff/host I've ever had. Yes, the location is far from the village, and it's scary and dangerous to walk back to the guesthouse alone at night. But don't hesitate to ask the host for a ride, they are always willing to help! Very good place to just relax and chill out.

I loved the location, right in front of the river and at the end of the village.I had a room overlooking the river and the jungle , great location. The employee are amazing always ready to help and the ambience is very nice and relaxing. The food is very good, the chef is amazing there. They new about my allergy to gluten and they were able to bake some bread for me and also made gluten free pancakes...love it. They also organized my transfers and my 2 days trekking in the jungle and we had a fantastic time, Ichan ( I may spell it wrong) and his friend were great...we saw many monkeys and birds we also see a walking Orangutan .

Met at the top of the village by Dedek and Jonny to help us with our bags by motorbike to the homestay. These guys could not do enough for us and Made our stay in Bukit Lawang which in itself is a great place to visit. We did a one day trek with them, and thoroughly enjoyed the day seeing orangutans in the wild, and jungle taxiing back to the village. We did a cookery course with Jonnys Mum and a Village tour on the third day by bicycle which was a great way to learn more about the area. On top of that it’s a very comfortable room overlooking the river, we had the upstairs. Superb few days, really worth visiting and we will be recommending to friends and family.

Booking Lucky Bamboo Bungalow was the best thing that could have happened to us in Bukit Lawang! Not only was Johnny the friendliest and most welcoming host, but also a very experienced and knowledgeable guide who made our 3-day trek an absolutely unforgetteable experience and we got to see 5 Orang Utans! The rooms are beautifully elegant, spacious and very comfortable. the location by the river is just incredible. but most of all it was the staff who made it special. The team arranged everything at very short notice and made it a seamless experience. Anton was a fabulous guide into the jungle.
