I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming lakefront villa in Bolsena, and it was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, the host’s warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. Every detail of the villa reflected thoughtful care, creating an atmosphere that was both cozy and inviting. The location couldn’t be better—nestled right on the serene shores of Lake Bolsena. Waking up to the tranquil views of the water was a daily highlight, and the villa’s proximity to the lake made it easy to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The house itself was impeccably well-equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from a fully stocked kitchen to cozy furnishings that made even the coldest winter evenings feel warm and snug. One standout feature was how dog-friendly the villa was. Our dog had plenty of space to roam freely, both inside the house and in the secure outdoor area. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of luxury and pet-friendliness, and this villa truly delivered. Despite visiting in winter, the villa stayed warm and comfortable throughout our stay, making it the ideal retreat for colder months. That said, we’re already looking forward to returning in the summer to fully experience the lake’s beauty in a different season. Overall, this villa in Bolsena is a gem—a perfect getaway for any time of year. We felt incredibly well cared for, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We’ll be back!

The view out onto the lake is exceptional - just open the front window in the morning to watch the ducks and geese arrive while the fisherman chat and prepare their nets. The apartment is very well appointed and ideally suited for a couple wanting to enjoy genuine Italian life in a simple village without too many tourists. Parking is free and not far from the apartment.The WiFi is adequate for email and simple tasks.The host is very helpful and can suggest plenty of itineraries for visiting the surrounding area. This was our second stay in this apartment and we thoroughly recommend it.

If you want to experience a truly Italian atmosphere, I recommend this stay. Despite our late arrival, we still received a bottle of excellent wine and Italian delicacies from the kitchen.

The best of this camping was that is was right on the lake.. how great is was to get up and to enjoy a great swim in the quiet waters, with the most fantastic view.. The camping was very wel organized. the camping shop had everything even fresh bread, there was animation in the evening, and there was a bar with a nice terrace. We even saw that there was a surf school. The village is a bit far by foot I guess, but we had a car ( there is a great parking for the cars just outside the camping) and then the village is easy to reach. The old part is amazing and the boulevard has a nice turning wheel which alows you to see the lake from above. We only stayed one night, but it left us a great memory. Certainly a place I would like to go back.

The location is outstanding, beautiful lake view and surroundings, quiet and very clean. The service was excellent, we arrived after 10pm, the lady at the reception was very kind and so is the staff at the morning. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, the shower is tiny, very simple room, but very clean. No elevator, you need to carry your laggage up by stairs, although only one floor. Good breakfast, you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Overall we had a very good experience.

Surrounded by centuries-old plane trees and lying 50 metres away from Bolsena Lake, Hotel Columbus sul Lago is the ideal place to spend a pleasant holiday.
