The staff were friendly and sweet and we couldn't have asked for better during our last few days in Sri Lanka. This is expensive for Sri Lanka but its definitely worth it.

While the long, sandy beaches are about a 20-minute drive away, getting there is easy with a driver arranged by the resort, as ride-hailing apps like PickMe don’t always work in the area. The beaches are untouched, with no hotels around, making them perfect for a quiet swim or a long, peaceful walk. If you visit in March, the weather is hot and humid, with calm waves ideal for swimming. However, from December to February, this area is a famous destination for kite surfers and surfers. One of the highlights of our stay was the free access to stand-up paddleboards (SUP) and kayaks, allowing us to explore the lagoon in the early morning or late afternoon when the temperature was cooler. The resort also offers bicycles for rent for free, making it easy to explore the surroundings at your own pace. The small pool in the garden was another unique feature. The ground around the pool is covered in soft sand, so you can walk barefoot, giving a real island vibe to the experience. It’s a perfect spot to cool off and relax after a day of activities. We stayed in a beautifully designed cottage that was both clean and comfortable, equipped with air conditioning to ensure a restful sleep. The most unforgettable part of our accommodation was the outdoor shower under the palm trees. At first, I was a little unsure about showering outside, but the lighting, privacy, and clean and natúral temperature water made it an incredible experience—one of the best showers I’ve ever had, right under the open sky! Since the resort is surrounded by nature, you’ll hear the sounds of various animals, making you feel as if you’re deep in the jungle.

The hotel itself feels really like a safari camp with wild animals and birds all around, there are monkeys and squirrels in the gardens. Each room is very private down a small path from the main dining room. The rooms are absolutely huge and wonderfully decorated. They have a large comfortable more-than-double bed and are well equipped with a fridge, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, hot and cold shower, tea and coffee making facilities, towels and robe. The room had huge windows overlooking the forest and its own private terrace and plunge pool perfect for cooling off after a long day. We had a sri lankan style breakfast which was delicious and we ate 2 nights at the hotel. I would highly recommend the seafood bbq, so much yummy food! The hotel is situated perfectly for safari as it is right next to the entrance to the national park so only 2 minutes in the tuktuk to get to the entrance. They packed us breakfast, lunch and snacks. Priyashantha joined us for the day and was fantastic at taking us to the best places to spot the wildlife. He brought along binoculars and books to show us the birds and animals we had seen. The jeep itself has a roof to keep cool in the heat of the day on the full day safari. I would highly recommend the friendly and caring staff, the beautiful peaceful surroundings and the very comfortable rooms.
