This is not the first time I stayed here, and if it's up to me, it won't be my last. Ample parking, nice outdoor seating areas, great food, very tasty ales, comfi rooms and friendly staff. And a great breakfast to set you on your way. What more can one ask?

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown just a short walk around the side to our room. It was clean, spacious and had all the amenities needed. After settling in, we headed back inside to the restaurant. There was a deal on the pizzas, which looked and smelt amazing! Normally I would indulge, but I had pizza the night before. So steak it was and I am glad, because it was beautifully cooked, melt in your mouth, with a lovely creamy peppercorn sauce. The better half had been talking about a large Yorkie pud for a while and couldn't resist when spotting this gem on the menu. Enjoying each bite and insisting I 'try the mash, it's so nice and buttery'. Which I can confirm, it was. Back to the room we waddled, and our eyes set on the hot tub. Knowing that we could not resist testing this on a chilly evening. It was easy to operate and extremely relaxing. Looking up at the night sky, with the odd car passing by was blissful. The room had a smart TV. Handy if staying for longer to ensure not to miss out on my normal binge behaviour but for our one night stay, Freeview was more than enough. It also had those fancy smart lights that follow the picture or glow a set colour. Adding these to my Christmas list! The bed was soft and comfortable, with a lovely tog duvet that kept us snug all evening. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend this property to stay, or even just to pop in for a meal! Thank you Jill, Mark and team for providing an enjoyable experience. We look forward to staying again.
