The place is so magical and quiet, yet the location is very central and close to restaurants, bars. And the breakfast... Oh my god, it was SO beautiful and delicious. You could feel the hosts doing everything from their heart. It was an absolute pleasure to visit Guesthouse Mele, we'll be back in no time.

We felt spoilt with delicious local and home made delicacies- we were treated with lovely wine, raki and most delicious breakfast of traditional bread, peach, fig, plum and raisins preserves and much more! Kids got plenty of attention, didn’t want to leave this place! There are two traditional restaurants in walking distance from Wild River-equally welcoming, tasty and value for money We took a walk to the mighty Vjosa river, a friendly shepherd gave us some directions, what a magical spot! Permet is a short drive away and certainly worth visiting! We made the most of the thermal springs and unspoilt views, it was such a treat to immerse ourselves in al this and then return to rest up so well at Wild River guest house!

What a wonderful experience I had staying in this lovely historic house! I had it all to myself. It felt very indulgent. It's full of character, cool and quiet. A true delight. The quirky little nook underneath the house was a real treat. It's incredible value for money and in great location. If you're driving there, be prepared to navigate some of Gjirokaster's narrow, cobbled streets! The host was very friendly, helpful, quick to respond to queries, and so clearly proud of the traditional Gjirokaster house, which has been in his family for over 300 years old. 1800's may not be to everyone's liking, but I loved it, and I would stay again!
