Located in Ohakune at the foothills of Mt Ruapehu, Rocky Mountain Chalets Ohakune provides home away from home accommodation with own parking and decks plus private in room free Wi-Fi with smart TV's. Some chalets have mountain views. We have a 16 person meeting room, access to 3 deep soak hot tubs, infrared sauna and a vending machine for drinks and snacks plus a Bike washing station. Clean, tidy and had all the essential facilities. We stayed here for 2 nights to complete the tongariro alpine crossing. The spa pool and sauna is a must try after a long hiking stay.

Met the hosts Ron and Allison on the last night and they are lovely friendly people.

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. The property is in a stunning location with beautiful views. The house itself was clean, tidy, and very comfortable. We stayed during winter, and it was warm and cosy thanks to the heat pump, electric blankets, and even an extra heater provided by the host. The host was extremely accommodating and kindly allowed us to check in early. The photos really don’t do the place justice - it’s even better in person. A 10/10 stay! Our whole group agreed we’d happily stay here again.
