Food was incredibly good and catered well for vegetarian. Warm, genuine hosts. Amazing view.

Everything was fabulous, the food, the people, the room, the surroundings, the local beach. Perfect, I could not have asked for a better place to experience the beauty of Taveuni. Activities could be organised at the lodge and information and advice was always given freely. The staff there were all lovely, big shout out to Khali!! The gardens are beautiful and perfect to hang out in reading a book or relaxing (just beware of coconuts!) there is a lovely beach nearby with some food places and good snorkelling. I did some diving with Taveuni Ocean Sports (can organise through the lodge) and wow, just wow. Vinaka vaka levu, I will be back!

I had a perfect time with the most lovable Fiji family homestay. Sia, Charley, Jima and all the boys cared a lot for me and we had an amzing time together! Sia ist the best cook in all of Fiji, better then in restaurant i can tell, love her veggi food, fresh fish, curry and lots of fruits every day..i went horse riding with Charley, with the boys on the boat to honeymoon island for snorcheling, the reef is directly in front the homestay, amazing natural landscape! Pete the driver took me to lavena coastal walk in national park and drives you everywhere on Taveuni 😀i loved the cute dogs and the kids in the village are so fun. My room was nice, i had my own little cozy space and Sia and everyone makes everything perfect, helping me with all questions, embracing me like a daughter (as i'm travelling on my own), i felt welcome like at home. Got emerged in the real Fiji life, I came as guest and left as friend. This family is a jewel and i will never forget this beautiful time with them!

If you're looking to spend some time on Taveuni, I'd highly recommend you check out Camp Taveuni. Hosts Allen and Mary were great. They made sure I was comfortable and even helped organise a taxi for me to visit the Bouma and Lavena falls. The Place itself is really lovely - well maintained and clean! It's easily accessible from the airport and walking distance to the few restaurants in Matei. You'd be hard pressed to find a better valued stay on the island. Camp Taveuni offers dorms as well as single/double occupancy rooms. I stayed in the private room and it was great! Nothing fancy, a queen sized bed, a table with a few drawers and a fan to keep you cool. You don't need much more when you're here and living the island life. They also have a nice pool if you want to take a dip. The beach is a 10 minute walk from your room and you have a nice view of the ocean from the common area. They also have to cutest dogs (Xena and Zoe) and the sweetest cat (Miley). If, like me, you're missing your pets while you're traveling, having the cat and dogs around definitely helped! Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Allen and Mary really made my trip to Taveuni special! It was great getting to know them and I'd highly recommend checking out Camp Taveuni! Jaydee’s is a true Fijian homestay experience – you’re staying with a local family in their home - the facilities are simple but clean, comfortable, and have everything you need. What makes it truly special is the family, who go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The warmth and hospitality of the family was the highlight. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, especially the grandmother, who radiates love and generosity. Staying here feels like being part of the family, and it’s a privilege to share in their home and culture. Breakfast was tasty, served with warmth and generosity – the perfect start to the day. And we had the yummiest dinner, made with love and care by the grandmother of the house. It was our favourite dinner of our trip! The location is great for exploring Taveuni. It’s peaceful and feels authentically local, while still being convenient for getting around the island. Just remember, you're at the top of the Island so if you're looking to get around lots, consider hiring a car. We used the local bus service and it was great, but it's not the most regular of service. (enjoy Fiji time!!) Mostly, we had a blast getting around walking which built up an appetite :) Reach out and ask the family when you book if you need help getting around, they're more than happy to help sort out local transportation. Honestly, the only thing we wish is that we had found Jaydee’s earlier and stayed longer! It was the most wonderful stay and the most amazing memories. We can not recommend it enough!! Best place in fiji. Very very nice people, good Ford (fresh fishes from the sea), fantastisc rief snorckeling. Next time I am staying länger. Werner
