One of the best rooms I’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka. The villa interior is modern and beautiful. Exceptionally clean, well equipped room and with great amenities. Tea/coffee, nice toiletries, spotless bathroom, comfortable bed, TV/netflix. The staff were absolutely amazing - I made the booking very last minute and they really took care of me, which is important for a solo female traveller. Very warm welcome. The breakfast was very nice. Yes, the villa might be a few km outside town, but it’s a short tuk tuk ride. Amazing value for money. Highly recommended.

A wonderful simple & authentic home stay. The owners (mother & son) were so lovely, friendly and helpful. The tea & cake on arrival were very welcome! It was the perfect overnight stay before doing the 10minute walk to Nanuoya train station the next day. Would highly recommend.

It was so nice. Clean, beautiful room. I can tell a lot of thought went into it, international plug, nice lighting, etc. The owners were so kind. They let us check in late, gave us breakfast. Helped us with getting the train the next day. They are so sweet!

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality during our stay at Grounders River Cabin. The staff went out of their way to look after us and decorated the room with rose petals and love hearts for our honeymoon. The dinner was lovely, authentic Sri Lankan style and the room was clean, we had all we needed. We had the most perfect view of the river below and the constant sound of the river made for a wonderful sleep. Special thanks to the wonderful owner for taking us to the train station in the morning!
