Excellent location and facilities. Comfortable private room. Well equipped communal kitchen.Plenty of toilets and showers.Very clean. Very friendly and helpful cleaning staff member. Enjoyed chatting to other guests in the communal kitchen. Walking trails close to the hostel.

We had a lovely stay at Rata Lodge. Hosts Vikki and Gerard were welcoming and gave us handy information regarding hikes in the area. The accommodation was clean, warm, lots of space, and a well equipped shared kitchen is also available. Beds were comfortable (with electric heaters as well). Definitely recommend and would rebook! It felt like home! :)

Great location, wonderful nature ambiance, there's even a nice waterfall hike and glowworms at the property. It's very calm, the Kiwi room was very comfy (and near the bathrooms so no long walks in the cold to the shower 😉). The amenities were nearby and offered everything we needed, and there is even a small shop at the reception for your basic needs. Our only regret is that we didn't book another night here as well.

The location and parking are very convenient. The apartment space and four rooms are very suitable for us. All the things in the kitchen are enough for us. Besides, the shower is very comfortable. We enjoy to stay here very much.
