We arrived tired and hungry at 7pm after a long day of kayaking in Saguenay and the proprietor's answer to our request for dinner suggestions (go to the grocery store for a baguette, some paté, and a bottle of wine and eat it on the balcony) was perfect. We enjoyed the proprietor's sense of humor and chit-chat over breakfast in the morning. He kindly also let us spread out our wet camping gear on the fence and lawn to drive so that we could properly repack it before continuing our journey into Quebec where wouldn't need it for several days.

We had expected it to be on the other side of the river, but taking the ferry was not much of an inconvenience as we never had to wait very long and the ferry crossed quickly.

Built in 1870, this historical home in Saint-Siméon faces Rivière Noire and Fleuve Saint-Laurent. It offers beach access and an outdoor terrace by the water. Several restaurants are within 10 minutes’ walk. Very friendly owners, great location! We used the outdoor kitchen, which was great. They serve the best breakfast and if you are lucky you can spot a whale from the terrace!

It was the most peaceful and relaxing way to end our trip. The view was amazing and the owners were so wonderful. We had to leave very early for our flight but they still offered to make us breakfast before we left. It was such a great time! Louise and Alain were an absolute pleasure to meet.
