Having visited Ayers Rock 40 years ago the entire handling of mass tourism has dramatically altered today's experience. This area is no longer affordable/accessible for the average Joe - a meal for four at the main restaurant is over $250! Tours are run by a large organization and cost $$$ Because of the excessive heat, you are really limited to early morning or late afternoon outdoor excursions and a trip to Kings Canyon (which is a real must) is also expensive and requires at least a day or two.

Uluru and the Red Centre have to be seen to be believed.

Uluru and the Red Centre have to be seen to be believed. Yulara resort is extremely well set up to help visitors make the most of their time. We had a car but there are plenty of other options for getting around. A variety of venues available for food and beverages.

It is a unique and special location ..and a truly beautiful one. It was our first experience of the red centre and I was struck by the beauty of the landscape particularly in the soft light of dawn and sunset and the stillness …and a big night sky I hadn’t ever experienced before. There really is a Milky Way !!

Great place to experience, to see Uluru and walk around it and learn about its importance to the traditional owners. Went out to the Olga’s and saw the sunrise over Uluru, it was spectacular. Enjoyed some great walks. Fabulous tour guide, very knowleable.it is worth getting a tour guide rather than doing it yourself.

    A trip of a lifetime!

A trip of a lifetime! We especially enjoyed the BBQ dinner and Star Gazing excursion out at Uluru! I've never seen so many stars! The Milky Way and two other galaxies all with the naked eye! I'm so glad we made the trip.

We had perfect weather had just rained so left us with some lovely green scenery. Weather was perfect. A little hassle with flies so need a net for face. Need a rental car to get around to see all sites. Just the experience of being there was magical. Day and night with the night sky as something unreal.

Great shower, very comfortable beds. Loved how it felt more nestled in the bush than the more obvious "resort" Sails. Very close to Pioneer lookout for a bleary eyed but short stroll dawn vigil of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Cook your own steaks best value at Yulara as was the prepaid breakfast at Bough House

In the space of 48 hours they lost our luggage, delivered to the wrong place in the hotel, and then the same with our laundry. The night manager eventually did a good job of sorting it out but it didn't say a lot for.hotel efficiency to say the least.
