The receptionist and staff on duty are very warm, friendly and helpful. Since we had a long time to spend in Devonport before embarking on our ferry to Geelong, the receptionist advised us to drive to La Trobe. It's a most charming small town with the best gift shop in the world, named the Reliquery. You must not miss this lil town and gift shop. Besides, the hotel's location is so near to the Spirit of Tasmania pier. We had no problems taking our car into the ferry to Geelong. Thank you so much Gateway staff and management

It was a really nice and sunny room with 2 windows. It was very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful location, less than 5 minutes to the beach. And the staff was so friendly and helpful! If I come to Devonport again I will come back! :)

I had a fantastic stay at this beautiful accommodation in Devonport, Tasmania. The house exceeded all my expectations—it was not only stunning but also impeccably clean and equipped with every amenity one could need for a comfortable stay. The self-check-in process was seamless and straightforward, making the arrival stress-free. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view of the lake, which added a serene and relaxing touch to the experience. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, providing the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. I truly regret that I only had two nights to enjoy this wonderful place. If I ever return to Devonport, I will undoubtedly choose to stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect getaway!

The reason for our visit was to attend an event 20 mins out of Devonport, so we didn't see a lot Devonport itself. What we did see was excellent. Plenty of shops, coffee, food, supermarkets. Did not have time to really explore, so save that for another day.

We stayed in Devonport for 6 days—a beautiful town—and visited many places including Mersey Bluff, Sheffield murals, Guide Falls, Coles Beach, Cradle Mountain, Don River Railway, Cataract Gorge, Nut Chairlift, Dip Falls, Leven Canyon, and the Tasmanian Arboretum.

Great walking/bike tracks along the river. Everything close to hand. Several lovely beaches nearby. Lots of things to do and natural scenery all along the North West Coast. Plenty of good places to eat.

Devonport is well located to do further sight seeing.

Devonport is well located to do further sight seeing. I didn't get to see much of the immediate township, however travel along the north coast was great to easily get to places such as Ulverstone, Penguin and Burnie. Launceston is only 100 kilometres in the other direction, plus places such as Sheffield inland are within easy reach and well worth a visit.

Good location, walking distance to major attractions like Bass Strait Maritime Museum and the lighthouse. The room was comfortable with good amenities, coffee/tea, toiletries. The buffet breakfast in the morning was great, variety of options to suit both adults and kids. The gym was clean and well equipped with Pelaton bike, treadmill, weights, TV. Staff at the hotel were nice and courteous. There are few parking options available to suit the budget.

The premises and hotel were perfectly fine, although we did have a terrible experience with another guest who was destroying a room only a short distance from our room. This really was a terrible end to our stay in Tassie.

This place is right in the middle of Devonport! It was perfect for my family and I, as we walked everywhere. I managed to get a good price for 2 rooms and when we couldn't be bothered walking, we ordered room service!
