The Tasmania Zoo was a wonderful place to visit. The animals are nice and close. The animal experiences you can have are awesome. Driving to George Town to watch the Fairy Penguins leave the water is a terrific experience, very close to the penguins! Launceston truly surprised us in the best way possible! It's a beautiful blend of heritage charm and modern convenience. The historic architecture, tree-lined streets, and scenic river views give the city a relaxed, welcoming vibe. One of the highlights was Cataract Gorge—just minutes from the city center, yet it feels like a world away with walking trails, a suspension bridge, and even a chairlift with stunning views. We also loved the local food scene—so many cozy cafes, farm-to-table restaurants, and a great selection of local wines and produce. The people were friendly and always ready to help with directions or recommendations. Whether you're into nature, food, history, or just want to relax, Launceston is a fantastic destination that’s often overlooked. Having been to and really loving Hobart, my daughter and I...
Having been to and really loving Hobart, my daughter and I decided to try the next biggest city in Tasmania, Launceston. It's not as vibrant and does not offer as many attractions as Hobart, but does boast the glorious Cataract Gorge and Tamar Wetlands. With a car, you can also visit landmarks including Cradle Mountain, the Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary and Freycinet National Park. We also chanced upon the Truffle Farm Tasmania on our drive to the wildlife sanctuary and stopped for some truffle oil, mustard and cream!Guest review byHarinderMalaysia - 10.0

Great town to visit - proximity to great landscapes such as Ben Lomond, Liffey Falls, Cradle Mountain and Strahan, nearby wine regions and of course Hobart, the south and west is just a couple of hours or so drive away.
