We visited Mudgee for a soccer match and were blown away by Glen Willow—it’s a beautifully maintained, spacious venue set against stunning natural scenery. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, perfect for both sport and downtime. The locals were incredibly welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the coffee and food were. Mudgee is such a beautiful town. I loved the historic houses and buildings and the abundance of wineries, restaurants and cafes so close to the town that offer beautiful local produce. I didn’t like all the magpies that made our bike ride around the wineries a little challenging! Mudgee has everything you could want.
Mudgee has everything you could want. Boutique shopping, great accommodation and food options, three breweries (alongside the typical "pub on every corner" charm of a thriving country town), and the wineries are up there with some of the best I've visited. Went to the Three Tails Brewery, plenty of beers on tap, try the (alcoholic) ginger beer. The food here was amazing with huge portions. Also went to Lowe's vineyard, which was fabulous. I recommend the meal with pairing wines, its a bit expensive but the food and wines were fabulous as was the scenery. Nice little touches like some complimentary snacks on arrival in the room and some Kimono's to wear around the room. Beds were nice and comfortable and linen in bathrooms clean and soft. Nice coffee machine in the room as well for a morning fix. We stayed during some very cold winter mornings but rooms AC kept the temperature nice. Easy walk to the main street, pubs and Cafe's.
