From the moment we checked in, the hotel staff greeted us with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to assist with anything we needed. Their attentive and friendly service made us feel right at home. The hotel's attention to detail in maintaining the property was evident throughout our stay. From the pristine lobby to the well-kept gardens, it was clear that they take great pride in ensuring a top-notch guest experience. Our suite was nothing short of luxurious. The elegant design, coupled with the cozy fireplace, created a delightful ambiance that made us feel like we were indulging in a five-star retreat. The large balcony provided a picturesque view of the tranquil river, making it a perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee or unwind in the evenings. The pool area was a definite highlight of our stay. With its sparkling clean waters and comfortable loungers, it quickly became our go-to spot for relaxation. The poolside service was impeccable, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect day under the sun. Overall, this hotel was the crown jewel of our Canada trip this year. The combination of friendly staff, impeccable maintenance, stunning suite with a fireplace and balcony, and the superlative pool area left us with memories we will cherish for a lifetime. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel and found it excellent. Its quality exceeds many 4 star hotels. Attractive lobby and dining areas. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished. We could open the window rather than relying on aircon. Beds were comfortable and room was very clean. Our family loved the indoor pool and slide. Staff had good eating recommendations. I would happily stay there again and definitely recommend this hotel.

We had an excellent stay at the Velvet Fern. The home was beautiful and fully stocked. Our baby was comfortable and we were in a great location to explore Courtenay. I'd highly recommend it to anyone hoping to visit.

Vera was super friendly and the bed was comfortable. Just what was needed after a long travel day. Lovely location right opposite the water. Breakfast was an added bonus. It was lovely chatting with Vera over breakfast, whilst also watching the hummingbirds outside the window.

    Mountain and Comox Bay Scenery were great. Downtown Courtenay had many interesting shops, good coffee shops and bakery. Traffic across river can be slow at times. Adjacent to Comox is a bonus with Comox marina, beautiful sea views and Comox airport is 4 km from Courtenay. Courtenay is walkable. Chocolate shop/bakery on main street not to be missed.

    Stopped here one night before flying from Comox airport. Seemed a nice local town and residential area with small independent shops. We didn’t have time to visit any nearby attractions or eat at local restaurants.

    People were nice.

    People were nice. Beaches along the coast were lovely and a good place to stay for visiting Courtenay itself and to use as a base for visiting other places. We ate at the Atlas Cade the first night and it was so good we went there again the second night. Great wait staff and great food.

    We stayed in Courtenay to try to go skiing, but unfortunately, this winter has almost no snow, but that's ok, it was our first time in town and it was nice, we had great food at Local and The Hen and Hog Cafe, I definitely recommend those two places.

    With a stroll through the river area I again appreciated all...

    With a stroll through the river area I again appreciated all the hard work of citizens determined to prevent flooding and also warning about personal safety near the water and on the bridge. The variety of shops is interesting. This trip we walked the river trail to the viewpoint to appreciate the Courtenay River joining the ocean. There are plenty of coffee shops, a brewery and bakery and great ethnic preferences for dinner dining. I always enjoy our visits.

    You have an entire house to yourself. The bed is incredible as is the huge patio with a tranquil view of a garden oasis. The kitchen is well stocked if you wish to cook, with access to a barbecue. We were on a busy schedule and our only regret was not having some time to enjoy this wonderful space. Bob and Sherry were welcoming and check in was a breeze. Tea, coffee, cream and filtered water provided. If in Courtenay again we will be staying here.

    We loved our stay at the White Rabbit Inn! The self-check-in was seamless, and the whimsical Alice in Wonderland decor gave the place so much charm. The hosts thought of everything—from a fully stocked kitchen with breakfast essentials, coffee, and treats, to a bathroom better stocked than a five-star hotel. The cozy living room, with books and board games, was perfect for rainy October days. It truly felt like a magical home away from home!
