    Absolute gem.

Absolute gem. After our last few trips to Bali and Lombok dealing with noise/traffic/pollution, we wanted a more authentic holiday location and felt we would be stuck in a resort all week if we went to Fiji. Rarotonga isn't a tourist hotspot yet and that suited us perfectly. People were friendly, transport was simple enough and it's a beautiful island with a proud culture on display. There are limitations based on the location, so no fresh milk and limited produce options, but for what they have they do great and being able to walk off the beach almost anywhere on the island and snorkel in clear and clean water with amazing sea life on display was well worth it. If you want cheap and nasty go to Bali, but if you want to experience local culture and life in the Pacific then I would highly recommend Raro.

The island seems to be recovering from the Covid lockdown.

The island seems to be recovering from the Covid lockdown. There were more tourist businesses than we remember from ten years ago but some great ones have gone. Still a very peaceful place to spend a week and the island never seemed busy even though it was NZ school holidays. Vaima’s is still a great beach restaurant and I had my best meal of the holiday (fish curry) there. Fantastic ika mata everywhere I went, plus great tuna steaks and sashimi. Snorkelling with turtles was a treat and worth doing but do book before you arrive on the island if you can. The Round Rarotonga Road Race was a great event if you’re a runner, as was the cross island “Nutters Run”. Also the Hash House Harriers running group was very friendly. Renting a car from Raro Cars was cheap and made everything easy.

Rarotonga is so beautiful, and the people are wonderful (well, except for the one grouchy bus driver who is tired of tourists). I appreciate how well the residents care for their island home. It’s a very special place.

Chilled place to really unwind , get married, pefect for a water sports enthusiast, went fishing on a charter & caught a yellow fin tuna, went diving/snorkeling with turtles and tropical fish, night markets food selection was vast and well priced.

The people, beaches, lots of activities all day long, groceries to be honest, its not as expensive as Ive seen on Facebook. Considering the cooks has to ship or freight their cargo across and the mark up was not that bad, however I'm only talking about the two of us travelling, it may be for big families. Otherwise looking forward to our next trip next year

The weather was not warm enough for swimming and snorkeling every day (which we had hoped for) as the lagoon is very beautiful. Thankfully we had no rain so we walked a few of the very beautiful (but hard) walks on the island. The groceries on the island are very expensive but the restaurant prices are on par with Sydney prices so we ate out every night although we booked self contained accommodation. The restaurants are excellent and most have beautiful views. Read reviews on Tripadvisor. There is a bus service on the island but for convenience and to save time we hired a car. People are really lovely and the day trip to Aitutaki an absolute must! Book that one early. A week was just right.

The property is so beautiful! Comfy, quiet, spacious, clean and scenic. Easy walk to the beach and down the road from The Rarotongan. This is a must-stay if you're looking for something more than just a hotel room. The pool is fantastic on those super hot afternoons too! Hosts are so wonderful, kind and helpful. You may want to get a car or scooter to get around quicker but the bikes are great to cruise around on and you can flag down the bus at the end of the road Thanks Jaime and Jason again for everything!

We loved our stay at Lagoon Breeze Villas. The staff was amazing. We were a group of 12, including children, and our villa was great. It had everything we needed to cook, as well as a supply of beach towels, snorkeling gear, and more. The location was great. In our opinion, it was the best beach in all of Rarotonga, as the snorkeling was fantastic. Breakfast had a variety of options including fresh fruit, toast, cereal and more.

It is a good hotel for families at a reasonable price. The pool was nice!. Breakfast was a little basic. The water out the front of the hotel had excellent snorkelling. The rooms are a little outdated but comfortable. Staff were friendly.

Very kind host Nev, location is great - close to Aroa beach which was one of the best snorkeling spots in Rarotonga, swam with a turtle and saw different species of fish. On western side so you can enjoy sunsets if the weather helps
