Everything! Beautifully designed, new bungalows in the middle of a tranquil oasis of a garden with delightful pool. Also with private outdoor shower! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Some other travellers mentioned it was far from the center but it wasn’t an issue for me, I walked every day and it was about 35 minutes along the beach. Would highly recommend if you want to stay in a beautiful hotel in the middle of nature and have a great night’s sleep while being close to Puerto Viejo.

The hotel was beautiful, breakfast was outside (under a covered area in case it rains ;), and the staff was so kind and ready to help if needed! When we arrived we went straight to check in and the first thing we received was a fresh coconut, which was very nice especially after the long drive we had that morning. There were two options for breakfast, american or costa rican breakfast and they were at the moment of ordering, which made it extra good. You have to walk 5-10 minutes to get to the stores/restaurants of the town but that's fine, if you get tired there are always a lot of little "taxis" driving around who will bring you back.

Amazing hotel with good facilities, in a peaceful area and super friendly/helpful staff! We loved our stay and loved the food/breakfast/cocktails! The hotel also has beach access and you can see howler monkeys/toucans frequently! The property is in Manzanillo so about 20mins from Puerto Viejo so a car is helpful 🥰

Rooms were clean and stylish. Although there was several villas it felt very private and calm. Breakfast was tasty and everybody was really nice and helpful. It is close to Playa Negra which is a nice beach with black sand.

The hotel grounds are absolutely stunning, nestled in an abundant lush jungle with cute critters, monkeys, sloths, hummingbirds, and birds. We stayed in the "Americana" room, which was towards the back of the property and away from other rooms. Overall, the room was very comfortable with beautiful décor. The room comes with a way to make coffee with fresh grounds, which is the best I've had in a hotel room or Airbnb. The breakfast that's included with the stay is delicious. The staff is beyond friendly. Special thanks to Moises for helping us spot the sloths! We loved being right on the beach to read and relax.

We stayed in a glamming tent which was magical. High up in the trees with a beautiful green view. Lovely deck to take in the view, which could also be appreciated from the king sized comfortable bed. A small kitchen with everything you need to eat In if you like. Coffee and other staples supplied. We also loved the outdoor shower. The breakfast is the best we have ever had. We stayed for 4 nights and every morning we were served something different. The owners are so nice too.

    The ocean is actually quit rough.

    The ocean is actually quit rough. You can't let your kids unseen be in the ocean (you can do this never of course, but it was wild). There were lifequards, that gave a safe feeling, but still.. I think Puerto Viejo is very expensive when you buy grocery or souvenirs. That's not nice. And some place were very dirty on the streets. To much trash. But the athmosfere is very relaxed.

    Puerto Viejo was a cute little beach front town with lots of life and friendly people. It’s not as “touristy” as I had read about. We felt safe walking around town and loved having so many transportation options. The tuks were a fun option to get around. There were several great restaurants within walking distance. Both Playa Negra and Punta Uva were beautiful beaches. Our visit was during the rainy season but it wasn’t horrible. It would rain a bit but the clear up. Would highly recommend staying there.

    It was the quiet, and beautiful beaches we were looking for. We were there in July so it was the off-season so the beaches were very vacant which I liked super clean hardly any garbage like almost 0 garbage and the towns there are just so perfect like it came right out of a book. And the birds mustn’t forget the birds everywhere such a beautiful song to wake up to.

    Very busy small town with lots of restaurants, bars, shopping. Public bus goes up and down the main road between Cahuita National Park and Refugio Nacional Gandoca-Manzanillo, where there are sprawling preserves with beaches & wetlands, protecting a vast coral reef & mangrove oyster beds.

    The town was nice and classic costa rica but neat small/beachy shops and restaurants. (Close to Cocles. Don't skip that area or Manzanillo beaches!! Very pretty around there, even the drive). My favorite along the roads (above others for 6 hours)! The Indian place near cocles? was pricey but good. Liked Hotel Banana Azul and Hotel Indalo too. Intimate, smaller, cheaper, classy hotel. Beaches were nice! The beach at Cahuita was super cool/unusual. We walked toward the right for almost an hour and found it to be interesting/ unusual.

    It rains a lot... it was december, I don't know if it is always like that. Punta Uva beach and Cocles Beach are better places to stay. Puerto Viejo is crowdy, at night people often try to sell drugs. Prices are very high for food. I prefer the pacific coast of Costa Rica.

    A very nice place to stay near Puerto Viejo, inside a wonderful garden with tall rainforest trees and a lot of carefully selected tropical plants. Saw various birds including a tucan and a poisonous frog directly in front of our house. The hotel is perfectly managed by the very attentive and friendly hosts. The included breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared to our choices. The nearby beach can be reached through a beautiful private footpath.

    We stayed in Lanna Ban for 6 days. Great facilities. We had a double room with balcony, which was spacious and clean. The room had AC which was a plus. The hotel graden and pool is beautiful. Great location near playa Cocles and some nice restaurants and the Jaguar rescue center. We loved riding our bike to Punta Uva beach in the daytime and Puerto Viejo downtown in the evening - the hotel is in the middle of these two. Friendly staff!

    The hotel is excellent, its maintenance is excellent and the service of all the employees is amazing. The location of the hotel is right across from the main beach and on the other hand it also has peace and quiet for those who are looking for it. No need to look for restaurants because the hotel's restaurant is one of the best in the area and is suitable for adults as well as children. We will definitely be back in the future

    Bungalows are near from a paradise beach call Playa Chiquita, you can walk from the hotel without taking your car out of the parking. The kitchen is fully equipped. Beds are comfortable. They are pet friendly and our pet had a great time in there.

    The hotel is beautifully designed and our room was fabulous! We had our own plunge pool. The location is perfect as can easily walk to loads of restaurants and the downtown area of Puerto Viejo. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
