Hagen is not the most beautiful of towns. Seems to have fallen on hard times like a lot of towns in an Industrial area of the Country. Run down boring city. 60s style. Suffering from underinvestment. Very poor facilities and venues. Untidy and dirty train station. Was there before in 70s. Nothing changed. Definite lack of funding. Resembles East German cities in 90s. A city left behind I think. Will not hurry back 2/10. Nothing that impressed me. Signs of urban degredation. Unfinished works. Road works. Shabby empty buildings. They not only sent a message, but also called to confirm we understood the check-in process for check-ins after 11pm. Got a very nice apartment with lots of space, microwave, fridge and a small capsule coffee machine. Also liked the option to either book the breakfast buffet for 13,50€, or just visit the (inexpensive but good) bakery cafe downstairs. The explained me how to reach the apartment and all the additional info regarding my stay. The apartment in Goldbergstr. is located just few meters away from the city main street. All the kitchen appliances are provided and all the rooms are bright and spacious.
