Kappelrodeck is beautiful and not too touristy. I could imagine living here to be honest! Nice selection of restaurants and a beautiful little konditorie. The people were super nice and friendly, no matter where we went and it is a fabulous home base to then go out and explore the area on hikes through the forests and vineyards. A must visit is the Zuckerbergschloss cafe/restaurant, which became one of our fave places to go. The Wine from the Hex Von Dasenstein winery is also excellent and well worth a visit to taste what they have on offer.Guest review byTracyGermany

The terrace (south) and balcony (west) were fantastic and the kitchen had everything we needed. We brought our racing bikes with us, and the hostess offered us to stall them in their personal garage. And about the location: we came for biking and hiking and we were not disappointed. Kappelrodeck is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and of course the Schwarzwald. Aside the decoration, there is no bar, no restaurant, only few hours reception staff. This is like a hostel, and taking this into account is perfect. You can use the saloon for you own food with cold drinks available. Big common spaces to be use. Our 4 people room was quite small.
