Memmingen is a nice town.
Memmingen is a nice town. Sadly we are always just doing a stopover so never get the chance to explore, but it looks an interesting place and not far from the Alps. 11 to 19 Oct 2025 was the Krammermarkt fair. Caused us a problem by not being able to make a return stopover at the Joesepps Hotel (with onsite traditional 'Octoberfest style' restaurant due to the fair, but the Algau Memmingen Nord provided an excellent alternative.Guest review byGeoffreyUnited Kingdom - 10

Memmingen is a very nice smaller city and definitely worth visiting. The historic centre is only a five minute walk from the hotel or from the station/bus stop. The transport links close to the hotel are very easy to reach on foot (for train trips to Munich, for example). Memmingen city is a gem. It is only 15 mins drive from Memmingen airport, and the old city is within walking distance of the main bus / train station. Everything is within walking distance, and there are an excellent range of shops, cafes and theatres. Memmingen is best known for the local FMM airport used by low cost carriers but most air passengers seem to directly head off to Munich or other cities rather than visit this attractive small Bavarian town. The town is a mix of modern and older buildings with an attractive central square and some old town walls still standing. It is a good place for a short overnight stay after arriving or before departing from the airport. Unfortunately FMM airport is far too small for the number of planes and passengers using it and few people whose aircraft departs from overcrowded FMM will want to return.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10

What I liked most about Memmingen was the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. The town's relatively quiet atmosphere provided a serene escape, while still being close to Memmingen Airport and the town center.
