The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

I loved the vibrant atmosphere, the crowd on the streets.

I loved the vibrant atmosphere, the crowd on the streets. Gran Via reminded me our Big Apple, by Times Square! Our fav spots were along Gran Via, but we ventured outside the town, in Segovia . In Madrid, I liked the gardens of the the Temple of Debod, from where I could have a panoramic view of many spots of Madrid. It is very easy to get around Madrid, using Metro, trains and Cercanias (local buses) Almost all of them are interconnected ( wherever you stop at one station with the sign 'correspondent') you can use the same fare. Be prepared to walk and go on 'escaleras' since the metro lines runs deep on the ground.

Dining in Madrid is very expensive for good quality--even the tapas. Transportation on the Metro is great. But many locations from then center can be walked. People in Spain smoke too much, the smell is everywhere.

So many wonderful museums and historical sites. Loved sitting at a cafe on the Gran Via with a glass of wine and people-watching. Stumbling on a great little taperia on some side street. Sparkling clean streets, metro and train.

Dont forget to visit the park and rhe Royal Palace. Also, miss out the tour buses and go to toledo by public bus, so cheap. It is a great day out. We love madrid.

    Madrid has striking architecture.

Madrid has striking architecture. Just take walks to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace of Madrid and even in Gran Via. A visit to the Prado Museum mandatory. Eat at least once at the Mercado de San Miguel. Take a bicycle tour to get a good look of the city and simply eat and drink and watch the world go by.

The hotel has a great location in Madrid city centre, in the barrio de las letras, a very nice neighbourhood full of bars and restaurants. It is only few minutes walking from all monuments and it is very close to puerta del sol which has good metro and suburban train connections. The room I stayed was simply decorated but had all the necessary equipment.

Modern hotel great for a one night stay in Madrid, right by Sol metro station so we could walk around Madrid from there. Absolute bargain for a family room in the city centre and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms look brand new, and had air conditioning which was great because it was very warm.
