The rooms are compact, bathroom is really of a good size and clean. The hotel is in the heart of the old city, close to the castle and 2 bridges to cross over the river Sil. There is an underground parking before entering the old city, and the hotel gives good information about all parking areas.

We were a group of 6 people doing the Camino from France to Santiago (5 by bike and 1 with a support car), and our stay was excellent! There was a safe place for our bikes, easy parking, and we were very well received. Clean and comfortable rooms, and a great location. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer. We highly recommend it to everyone on the Camino – whether by bike or on foot – after many rides and walks, it was just perfect!

Authentic, very friendly staff, relaxed and quiet, great home made wine and food. Good for small families, couples etc. I used as a stopover. The owner kindly cooked me a meal on a Bank Holiday when all restaurants were closed.

    Ponferrada seems a really nice city. We didn’t get time to visit the castle or cathedral but our friend did and she said both are really great and well worth a visit. Loads of restaurants and places to eat.

    I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.

    I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino. This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL. Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

    Comfortable room, if a little cramped. A quick walk to the city centre. While I wouldn’t recommend it as a hotel, for the price and location it was a great stop for a Camino pilgrim.
