Mountain town with beautiful surroundings. Many restaurants. On new years day only a few of them were open. Maybe the restaurant we choose was understaffed, we had to cancel our orders after waiting for more than an hour, without getting anything to eat.

Tejeda is surrounded by great walks in complex scenery.

Tejeda is surrounded by great walks in complex scenery. The village is located in a giant 20km diameter volcanic caldera with many rocky ridges around. The historic village is lovely, with lots of public parking available. Do leave plenty of time to travel there though as the roads to get there are tortuous, narrow, winding and slow. Therefore it's well worth staying a few nights in the place. Amazing and unusual place, well worth visiting.

The mountain guide, Piergiorgio Pallara, chose a fantastic route for a pleasant hike near Tejeda. Another day we hiked from Texada Hostal to Artenara. After a day of hiking we enjoyed fine meals in Tejada’s restaurants.

Tejeda is one of the most beautiful villages on the island.

Tejeda is one of the most beautiful villages on the island. There's plenty of restaurants - also open in the evening (which is not obvious as a lot of them close at 17:00) and one of the best "dulcerias" of Gran Canaria.

Set high up in the mountains Tejeda provides fabulous views of the surrounding mountains and rock features. It is also a good base to explore the whole island and the towns and views it offers. The bars and restaurants offer a good range of Canarian dishes. The main street is laid out as a precinct with some moving traffic with stunning balcony views of the surrounds.

Beautiful town, loads of trails for hiking and running. Some really nice eateries and especially the famous almond dulcerias - come early in the morning as they get pretty busy in the middle of the day!

The location is perfect for a stay in Tejeda. Just a short walk to everything, the Spa, cafes and restaurants all close by. Amazing views from the property. There is a park just outside the property with amazing views for the sunset each day, so don't worry if the upstairs apartment with a balcony isn't available, you can just go and sit in the park instead! Walking through the park is also a shortcut to the restaurants. There's also lots of friendly cats in the area.

The hotel and the location are amazing. We also did a Spa session and the outdoor infinity pool is an incredible experience and view. Hiking trails direct from the hotel are excellent and easily accessible. We had a great stay. The only (very minor) suggestion would be to have tea / coffee making facilities in the room. If you like modern, luxury hotels- this one is not for you. But if you're looking fore an authentic, rural climate- its perfect! The area was beauriful, i loved the romantic, vintage vibe. We loved real, old antique furniture. Bathroom was pretty modern and clean. Restaurant is really nice, we had delicious dinner there. And hens walking around in the morning... What an atmosphere!
