Nordic Daughter of the Baltic
Scratch beneath the small-town surface of Helsinki and you will find a cosmopolitan metropolis buzzing with a lively attitude and plenty of excitement. Helsinki is a very pretty city.
Helsinki is a very pretty city. It is not large so it doesn't feel crowded. It has excellent public transport links to airport. Only 4.49 € on the train. The harbour and foreshores are beautiful and I recommend taking a boat cruise around the harbour and out to the archipelago. There are many sights to visit such the Rock Church and the squares close to the harbour. Helsinki is a fascinating city with buildings and monuments reflecting its history. The shopping is excellent and the tramway, taxi, Ubers and Bolt systems are very convenient and reasonably priced. We enjoyed riding the No. 4 tram to the beach and cafe at the end of the line, and also the boat ride around the harbour and fortress island. I walked around the city and sat nearby the lake and many gardens and many beautiful streets, but native people are not social (as expected, actually). It was fun to be here.
