The room was clean and modern, very well laid out. The hotel is directly connected to the station, allowing for easy arrival from it. There's good choice of restaurants nearby and its next to the Pompidou The walk to the center was quite pleasant as well.

We travel with family and friends. The place is very cenrtal, step out and you are on one of the main shopping streets. All sightseeings, bars, cafes, restaurants, shops - everything is wakling distance. There are pretty cheap parking options a few meters away (Cathedral parking is 8.60euro per day). Great location to explore the city. In addition the room was very spacious, and clean. The people are also sooo friendly. You can have breakfast or just sit in the lobby and have a drink. We had great time and plan to come again. Can only reccomment it. Excellent place

A Fascinating Voyage through Art, History and Culture

Located near the borders of France, Germany and Luxemburg, the French city of Metz is the capital of the Lorraine region in the Moselle department. This destination has stunning architecture, as well as rich history and culture.

The Saint Étienne Cathedral is a massive Gothic structure, built of yellow limestone. This masterpiece along with the Defensive City Gates, are some of the most important landmarks in Metz.

    A wonderful exhibition space in the heart of the Pompidou Center. Be sure to plan lunch at UME, the museum’s restaurant, it’s incredibly delicious! Don’t miss the 6,500 square meters of unique stained glass in the cathedral, created by Marc Chagall and Jacques Villon-absolutely breathtaking.

    Lots to do in the lovely city of Metz.

    Lots to do in the lovely city of Metz. The Cathedral was absolutely stunning and so was the Museum cour d’Or - extremely impressive not only for its collection of varied artefacts but it was so well laid out with explanatory information in multiple languages, including English - and it was free! Lots of wonderful places to eat too - had a great meal at La Table with a warm and friendly host serving us.

    It's a beautiful little gem, I love spending there a day while travelling across France. I have never been a tourist there but I love the occasional stay over and enjoying local cuisine and entertainment

    I was only in Metz for 24 hours on my way to another...

    I was only in Metz for 24 hours on my way to another destination, but will definitely be coming back as there are some great historical and modern buildings , and I would like to have more time at the Pompidou as well as see more of the Medieval centre.

    I only stayed for one night while travelling to another...

    I only stayed for one night while travelling to another place, so I didn't spend long in the city but it really impressed me and I wish I had more time to explore it. Metz has a sense of culture and history, lots of green space and beautiful, authentic architecture. I hope to visit again.

    Metz was amazing!

    Metz was amazing! The Christmas markets were fantastic and the city itself is gorgeous! It is just the right size to get a city feeling, but not too large to be overwhelming! I would love to come back in warmer weather, I am sure the atmosphere is fantastic!

    The hotel is well located in the centre of Metz. It is part of the Kyriad chain so it's a typical mid range hotel. There is a nice bar area which doubles up as a reception. We had 2 double rooms which were clean and functional. The buffet style breakfast had a reasonable choice of croissants, fruit, bread, cheese, meat etc. and was regularly replenished. It was busy and finding a table a bit tricky. On the whole the staff were friendly. We prebooked the hotel car park which is well located and secure under the hotel.

    Everything was excellent. The reception staff were very friendly and most welcoming indeed. The room was very big and the beds very comfy with a choice of 2 different pillows. The bathroom was modern and very good. There was a most welcome fridge and a Nespresso machine. Whilst very modern, the hotel retained its "Citadelle" character. The location of the hotel is excellent for walking around the beautiful city centre with a 15mins walk to the cathedral and a 25 mins walk to the Port des Allemandes.

    Terrific location in the centre of Metz and just a very short walk from the car park. The parking was generously discounted by the hotel and even the parking attendants were very helpful. The staff were super: the welcome was warm and generous, they were very efficient, very helpful and gave us plenty of time to explain all the amenities.
