Such a cool little place with lots of history- and wine... Great restaurants. Town is small enough you can easily walk around the whole town. Some streets are very uneven (very old) and a few short hills.

Very pretty town with cobblestone streets which are a killer on the feet so be prepared with good walking streets. Lunch - La Terrace Rouge - located at La Dominique winery - perfect. Reasonably priced and food presented beautifully Dinner - La Table 38 - in the centre of Saint Emillion - great little spot and the guy who served us spoke perfect English. Very well priced and food was very good Lunch - Le Caffe Cuisine- located in Branne- bistro - full of atmosphere and busy. Great spot out of town. Well priced. Winery - chateau La Grande Clotte - located in Lussac - shown around the vineyard and tasted 4 wines all free of charge. Julie and Mathieu are a young couple who have renovated the property and run the business by themselves. Had one hour there by appointment and really enjoyed the chat. Very informal and we were the only ones there. Perfect. We spent 2 days at Saint-Emillion and felt this was enough. Maybe one extra day but definitely we wouldn’t have wanted more. To visit the wineries you need to book in advance. As we are going to be in the area for another 2 weeks our main reason for being there was to enjoy the town itself.

A must visit for anyone seriously interested in Bordeaux...

A must visit for anyone seriously interested in Bordeaux wines, but obviously the area is rich in historical significance with stunning vistas. A bit touristy in some respects, but people are drawn to the area for obvious reasons. Our decision to visit in the early fall meant we encountered some rain, but it was worth the trade-off for smaller crowds.

Absolutely beautiful village and lived up to hype.

Absolutely beautiful village and lived up to hype. The monolithic church and the Cloisters were orth the visit. Some great caves (cellars) are located on the edge of the village and are usually happy for you to visit and taste some sensational wines. If you intend to visit any of the wineries within a few kilometers of the village a booking prior to arriving in St Emillion is essential. Great place

Solange met us with kindness and shared history about the property and site. The windmill was so perfect and picturesque, and so much more memorable than staying at a generic five star hotel. It was also an easy and lovely 7-minute stroll to the St Emilion town - we much preferred being a tiny bit outside than being in the middle of the crowds. We’re already planning to revisit again next year in this accommodation! Merci Solange

Didn't have breakfast as it was expensive for a Continental. The room was small but had character and offered all the facilities. The hotel offered wine to buy yet no corkscrew. In a great location in St Emilion opposite a lovely restaurant. Very busy and sometimes difficult to get a parking space. The outdoor space with the smell of Jasmine everywhere was lovely and chilled despite the rain!!

Room was lovely, bedroom was quite small and nowhere to store your bag, the bathroom was large and comfortable. The view from the room was beautiful and bed was very comfortable, decor of the hotel was lovely and it had a nice vibe.
