Immaculately presented modern business type hotel. We were travelling down to Italy so for us the position near the autoroute was very convenient. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant presented to us by efficient yet friendly staff. Would stay again, maybe next time for a couple of night's. The breakfast was perfect with sparkling local wine available on a Sunday morning. We made a bucks fizz with ours from the quality orange juice. Hot and cold option's available with great coffee.

Good food in several restaurants in the car-free old town area. Lots of walking and bicycling paths. Good travel connections. Friendly people. Spent two days up in the Val d’Argent at the European Quilt Meeting.

We wanted to visit Strasbourg but didn't want to drive into...

We wanted to visit Strasbourg but didn't want to drive into the city so we chose Selestat with it's easy train link. We didn't expect to love Selestat better. The old town is very compact and easy to walk around. Lovely restaurants and great boulangeries.

Small very pretty Alsace town centre.

Small very pretty Alsace town centre. Good shopping, reasonable range of eating choices. Short drive from our hotel. Short walk between town centre and the railway station giving us access to other places such as Strasbourg when we chose to not drive.

We visited just before Christmas.

We visited just before Christmas. The centre of this beautiful town was nicely decorated with trees and lights everywhere and some small Christmas markets. Not as hectic as nearby Colmar, which we also visited. The shops in Sélestat offer a range of high quality and unusual gifts. There are some fantastic bakeries and coffee shops.

We chose to stay here as it seemed to be a good midpoint between Colmar and Strasbourg, both of which we intended to visit. However, upon arriving we abandoned plans to visit Strasbourg and instead spent the day in and around Selestat, is it was so lovely and not nearly as filled with tourists as Colmar had been. In particular, the tour through the castle nearby (Haut-Koenigsbourg) was outstanding. Also well worth visiting was the Bibliotheque Humaniste. We left wishing we'd spent a bit more time in this beautiful town - definitly a hidden gem!

Selestat was a very well placed town to explore the Alsace...

Selestat was a very well placed town to explore the Alsace region of France. It was smaller than both Strasbourg and Colmar and centrally located between those towns. Selestat had the same charm of these larger towns and we were able to make easy day trips to the larger towns and the many small villages in between. We took a week to allow easy exploration of the region, including some of the Vosges mountain range. Selestat had a good range of casual and higher end dining options, but without the crowds of bigger towns.

Pretty nice and clean apartment in a quiet area - perfect for our 5-nights-family trip. Comfy beds, clean and nice bathroom, well equipped kitchen and cleaning equipment. Free parking was always available in front of the apartment on public street. Patisseries are in walking distance to get some fresh croissants in the morning and big supermarkets are a 3min drive away only. Selestat is a good base for visiting Straßburg and Colmar and it is totally worth walking through the old town of Selestat as well. Would clearly book again.

Host was very efficient and gave all the details to the check in and check out upfront + gave a nice PDF with information on places around and what to do and see. The apartment is very well equipped to up to 4 people with dishes , towels and everything else you can think of. Location is SUPER , in the middle of the city , near everything and great place to go visit all the Alsace area

The location of the apartment is in a medieval building in the heart of the historic centre of Selestat. The decoration is fantastic, the shower solution is innovative. The hosts: mother and her son are great, welcoming people. I firmly suggest to book.

Very good apartment on the edge of the Selestat historical center. It has a combined kitchen/dining room, separate (tiny) living room with a TV and two sofas, and a separate bedroom with access to a (shower-)bathroom. The location is very quiet.
