FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Whether you want Aberdeen hotels with a pool, or rural accommodation surrounded by hills, don’t miss the deals on Booking.com!

The art gallery is fantastic, lots of great exhibitions shown there.Great interactive learning stations for children+good cafe near entrance + a small coffee + cake one on 2nd floor where you can sit outside with view down the city.Footdee is a lovely old fishertown area near the huge beach+harbour. The famous Codonas beach park is expanding.Lots of great bars and places to eat.Good shopping centres but the only let down for me is Union street, the large wide main street which has lots of closed shops and looks run down.

It is nowhere as much fun as 20 years ago.

It is nowhere as much fun as 20 years ago. The city centre is dreadful really, Union Street had great shops, now a bit of a backwater town. There are tedious shopping centers with parking, but nothing special. The new gardens are worse than the beautiful old gardens which is criminal. Duthie Park is a good perambulation on a sunny morning, the art gallery and maritime museum are great. Night-time in the city centre is for the young, the drunk and low level criminality, best avoided for any culture or quality. There are a few music venues and a pleasant theatre with contemporary shows. The P&J TECA center is miles away from the city centre and not much fun in general to get to and from. Hotels can be ludicrously expensive for low quality accommodation on show days, weekends and oil industry events.

Abredeen is not on the usual list of tourist places to visit. But it is a good place to meet some real Scotland. And like all places it has it's own particular history which is always interesting. The day drive up the coast is nice too with seals, castles etc.

Been a few times to Aberdeen as this is where our son lives. Plenty variety of eating places and pubs etc . We were there one night as we were there for a specific show at the time in the Aberdeen Music Hall. Downside is the amount of beggars and homeless people in the city centre.

Love Aberdeen, always plenty to see and do with kids. Short bus trip to Stonehaven outdoor pool is a must. Buses every 10-15 minutes to different areas within Aberdeen and trains to other towns and cities down the east coast.

I didn’t stay here. I doesn’t exist. Why is it being advertised as this is next to airport. I was moved to Brentwood Aberdeen City Centre, with an address of 101 Crown St, Aberdeen, AB11 6HH. However when inside I was impressed with the budget room. Clean and cosy. Value for money. I was at back of hotel which I like so no traffic noise.
