Really liked Alnwick, pretty little town with lots of independent shops to explore and a good range of choices for eating out. It is cobbled in places and a bit hilly, if you have mobility issues. We had a good meal in the Market Inn; we were lucky to get in as there was a constant stream of people looking for a table while we were there. It is obviously very popular. Also had an excellent chippy tea in Carlos Fish & Chip restaurant. Explored Alnwick Castle, which we loved and also the Alnwick Garden, a little oasis. People are very friendly.
People are very friendly. There are lots of things to see and do.Lots of shops cafes and restaurants to suit everyone's taste buds .we'll worth visiting the Castle which has alot of history and well preserved .inside and out. Everything we done there was lovely.
Everything we done there was lovely. The castle, The shops and Wednesday market, The Zoo, that is only a short drive away, The museum, The Gardens, We did go across to Sea Houses, done a boat trip and had fish and chips there, Do not forget to have a coffee in the Chocolate shop. The castle was good value and a very interesting experience.

The Castle is Superb.
The Castle is Superb. The Staterooms were astonishingly impressive. The Castle and its History especially the Percy Family bring a Proud and fascinating past to life, really wonderful. No escaping the Harry Potter link,but watching a dozen Gen Z's trying to fly broomsticks..actually dragging them along the ground ...was highly amusing. We liked being able to enter the property and access our room independently. The room was very comfortable and cosy. It was particularly nice to have a fridge. Breakfast was excellent in very pleasant room. Cafetiere coffee we made ourselves was a bonus. Coffee in hotels is frequently poor. Parking at the back of the terrace was helpful. Enjoyed a good night's sleep there. Hotel is just the right distance from town for us with a good walk to the shops/Castle, etc. It was an excellent location for visiting the lovely Northumberland area and its attractions. We enjoyed the evening meals, and the breakfasts were really good. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful.
