The location, the property itself, restaurant, the personel all were truly excellent. From beginning to end every detail was great. We also had dinner and both the food and the service were fantastic. There was also complimentary whiskey and sloe gin which is such a nice touch. Small details make huge differences.

The location was excellent. It was a short walk from everything I wanted to visit and also close to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable and - though it seems small - the water pressure and hot water availability were really good.

Small and quaint village within easy reach of Maidenhead, Marlow and High Wycombe. We had a short stroll around the village which was quiet and surrounded by countryside. We stayed in our pub/hotel for one night en route North and we wanted to relax for the afternoon, watch the rugby, read the paper and chill. It was perfect!

Cookham is a charming village very pretty with access to a good number of walks including along the Thames. An amazing selection of pubs/places to drink (including in Cookham Dean) and choice of places to eat. Lovely mix of buildings, including the church and the excellent Stanley Spencer Gallery. Only downside is the potential limited parking (although we got a space on the high street 20 yards from the hotel (thank goodness for minis!). It was bonfire night and the community came out to watch the great display over the Thames. Everyone very friendly. It is also a good hub to reach other attractions (we actually came on after racing at Ascot.

Great selection of pubs and restaurants.

Great selection of pubs and restaurants. Bel and The Dragon is superb. Pleasant country footpaths and riverside. Walked to Cliveden (National Trust), though it was much longer than planned (3.5 miles), due to flooded footpaths. Geocaching took me on an interesting tour, including Stanley Spencer (artist) locations.

Cookham is a beautiful place with a small high street, that had plenty of eateries. We enjoyed a 'trio of roasts' at The Ferry, which was a short walk from the high street & on the high street itself, we had an amazing curry at The Malik. We did a ninety minute walk along the Thames path, which took us to a lovely place called 'Marlow' The high street boasts a host of wonderful shops & bars & a lot of independents too. Definitely worth a visit

A very beautiful English pub/restaurant with a handful of really cosy and lovely apartments. Situated in a gorgeous small village of Cookham yet so close to all major routes and towns. This family owned business is top rate, all staff were fantastically friendly, chatty and very welcoming. Plus, the breakfasts are without doubt, the best around prepared freshly by a fantastic in-house chef. I can't praise this little gem highly enough. Thank you all...can't wait to visit again.

Beautiful location and a huge house with plenty of space for a big group of 10. The dining room was a perfect spot for serving up a good meal and the games room and lounge were perfect for entertaining. Bedrooms and beds all huge and comfy. Being so close to the river was a real bonus and meant we also went on some lovely runs and walks all within easy distance of the house. Marlow and Cookham were great to explore too. Overall it was a fantastic base for our weekend.
