I found Kyle of Lochalsh really friendly.

I found Kyle of Lochalsh really friendly. The hotel I stayed in was amazing and the staff ultra helpful. The cafe I had baked potato, chicken mayo and cheese in was really nice and friendly, the food amazing. The gift shop beginning with O was lovely and I bought a couple of necessities for the rest of my holiday (scarf and beanie). The Islanders pub in the evening was really fun atmosphere and a good mix of locals and tourists.

The lodge is set in an absolutely amazing spot, with stunning surroundings that make it a truly memorable location. However, we did feel that the price was quite high compared to the overall services offered. The dinner and breakfast areas lacked atmosphere and coziness, while the food itself was fine. Our room had a mattress with one side noticeably deeper from frequent seating, which made sleeping uncomfortable (especially since it was our only chance to rest for one night during our road trip). On the positive side, the personnel and the manager were all very kind and welcoming. That said, there seemed to be too few staff members at times to maintain the level of service one might expect at this price point. Overall, a beautiful place with great potential, but a few improvements could make it truly exceptional.

We did a glass bottom tour of the area which traversed around the Loch which was a great experience..we used the hotel in this area to access Isle of Skye as the accommodation in and around was either not available for mutli night stays or well over priced for the facilities. The bridge and the Loch was a great experience on our journey around Scotland

Good location to base yourself for visiting Skye, Plockton, Sandaig, Applecross etc. A variety of places to eat to suit all budgets including a decent sized Co-op. Good roads with plenty of signed passing paces on the single track lanes. The 2 hour boat trip with Seaprobe Atlantis was a fun experience and having easy access to all other areas - Skye, Kylerhea ferry, Sandaig, Plockton - made it perfect for me.

It was a pilgrimage for me,my dad was posted there during the Second World War on MineLaying duties I wasn’t disappointed as the community have made sure they are all remembered, with a couple of memorials. It is a beautiful part of the country, with stunning scenery abound, walking ,touring, boat trips, coffee haunts..history..or just watching boats ply the water. A train trip would be an absolute highlight on the Kyle line, your nose would be pressed against the window the whole way. If you like driving or motorcycles…..your in for a treat…..

Easy access to bridge over to the Isle of Skye.

Easy access to bridge over to the Isle of Skye. Very friendly townsfolk. Can recommend The Kyle Hotel for staying in when visiting. Room and ensuite were immaculately clean. It is also very good value for money food wise and staff very pleasant.

We stayed here whilst driving the NC500. This was our last hotel on the route and the best! The room was large, clean with a great view of the loch. Sunset from the window was fantastic. The food was excellent, tip: book your table as soon as you can! There was a good selection of local food and the breakfast was great as well. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Point of EV drivers, there is a ChargePoint Scotland opposite. Don't know whether it works as we had enough juice to get back to Inverness.

Clean, modern, beautiful views and friendly staff. Traveable to Portree, Talisker and fairy pools. Breakfast was good on the first morning but unfortunately the power was out the following morning which meant only a small selection of items were available. Although recognise this wasn’t the hotels fault due to storm Amy.

The only redeeming feature of this property is its location. The hotel offers a beautiful view over the loch, and on clear days you can admire the iconic Skye Bridge. Unfortunately, the poor condition of the accommodation itself completely overshadows what could have been a memorable stay.

Perfect location for exploring Skye and Applecross. The hotel rooms were small but perfectly adequate for our needs. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Nice hotel bar and great breakfast.
