The staff, room and restaurant are all excellent. This was our second time here and it was just as great as the first time. Definitely the place we will stay at the next time we are in the area!

Really comfortable and spacious rooms which are well equipped and very clean. Good beds and plenty of towels and toiletries. The hotel has a lovely spa, with a well designed pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, as well as loungers for reading. Breakfast was also plentiful and varied. big and convenient car park too, as well as polite and courteous staff.

I ended up at the Black Horse after being stranded at Peterborough due to an LNER situation - I tried booking hotels in town and they had run out of spaces so I randomly chose a reasonably priced one that was accessible - which ended up being the Black Horse. It looked very nice from the photos and lived up to this image - it's a gorgeous place - an old-fashioned inn with a restaurant, bar and rooms, beautifully decorated. The young woman on duty who checked me in (I can't remember her name but she was great) was extremely welcoming, reassuring and accommodating. The dinner was exceptional - the best gluten-free fish and chips I have tasted! (Coeliacs should check if the tartare sauce is gluten free though) It was great to be so warm and well-fed in such a nice environment after being stuck on the train and then a cold platform for several hours. I'd definitely recommend this place. My room was large and comfortable with space to work and a really good shower. They even let me work remotely the next morning teaching music online no bother! (In fact I got a round of applause from the locals in bar next door when I finished :D) Altogether very friendly, comfortable, amenable and relaxed place. The young bar staff were also great - relaxed, resourceful and accommodating. I'd definitely choose to stay here if I was in the area again, absolutely.

It was nice to come back to the town I once lived in. The Cathedral is still magnificent and worth a visit. We found some nice restaurants in and around the town. I was disappointed with some of the town centre it looks rundown and poor.

Peterborough Cathedral is lovely to visit with lots of history. The Wildwood restaurant is a nice place to eat and not too expensive with good service. There are lots of places to visit for young people and older people as there are lots of nice restaurants to choose from there is Queensgate shopping centre nearby.

Both hotels I stayed in were fantastic.

Both hotels I stayed in were fantastic. The city centre has more life and vibrancy than I expected, with pop-up stalls in cathedral square for example. Ferry Meadows, Thorpe Wood, Longthorpe all felt perfectly safe, and were quite a delight to walk around. The cathedral is amazing, and if you have no money the donation is not a required entry fee, unlike some places; you can light a candle there, and see the grave of Katherine of Aragon.

We don't know too much about it. We were there for a funeral, but I know it's a city that has everything according to my late friend 🧡. Nearby Rutland is lovely and the little town of Oakham...my Mum lived there so I can vouch for there.

We could not get to hotel as the only road to get into the services was closed. We found somewhere safe to pull over and phoned the hotel. The lady we spoke to said show your hotel confirmation to the work men and they will let you through. I explained that there was no workmen in sight and as it was a busy roundabout coming off a motorway I didn't think it was safe or legal to stop and wander about.. The lady then said I don't know what you can do as there is no other way in.Then again why should the hotel bother room paid wether we got there or not.We gave up and had to complete our long drive home after a long flight arriving after midnight I checked my email yesterday morning and was surprised to have an email from the hotel thanking me for checking in. I will not be using this hotel again and will not be using booking . Com to book anything that you pay upfront

The Hotel is well situated on the outskirts of Peterborough and not too difficult to find. Ample Parking. The rooms are of the 'standard' size and design with all the facilities you would expect - the bed is comfortable and the shower is exceptional. I was there with friends and we kinda took over the restaurant for the evening as it was our Christmas Function
