Home from home. Beautiful cottage, in a lovely setting with a small orchard and local wildlife visiting the garden, a place to relax. The cottage had everything we needed. Loved the 2 amazing and comfortable bedrooms. The bonus was having 2 bathrooms too. Free car parking for 2 cars. The welcome of fresh cut flowers when we arrived was a lovely touch. The extras such as the bottle of milk, Shrewsbury biscuits and Shropshire beer was delicious too. The local Spar shop in Baschurch was only a 4 min drive away, and stocked everything we needed for our stay.

The hosts sent helpful messages beforehand to give directions to the property and for getting into it. It is located down a quiet residential street just 10 minutes walk from Wem town centre, with its own clearly labelled parking spot directly outside. The Hayloft studio flat is very well designed and beautifully decorated. There is a large comfortable bed, settee and armchair and a small kitchen area with a kettle, fridge, toaster and portable electric hob which enable guests to make hot drinks, snacks or simple meals (all cutlery, crockery, pans, etc supplied). The bathroom has a power shower with two different heads, free environmentally friendly toiletries and a hair dryer. There was ample storage space for hanging or folding clothes, and the apartment was very well lit with a surprising amount of different options, and windows that opened. We didn't need the heating on but there were clear instructions for operating it and even hot water bottles just in case. A very comfortable and cosy place for an overnight stay or as a base for exploring Shropshire.
