Port Isaac is a magical place!
Port Isaac is a magical place! We loved watching the tide rise and fall in the harbor and watching the sunset from the balcony of the Golden Lion. We also walked from one side of the hill, through the village and up the other side for magnificent views! The museum in the old church was interesting, and we loved all the shops and just the overall quaintness of Port Isaac. Stunning area. The village has narrow streets and cottages. Very steep hills. The harbour is popular and you can see why. We bought some chips & sat on the rocks when the tide was low. Just sat there for over an hour soaking up the view. Port Isaac is like being back in time. The eateries are quite expensive, so best to buy takeaway if on a budget. There is a reasonably priced cafe at the top of hill called the Cornish Cove and the food is very good. Great harbour with excellent food and drink options. Wish we had had 2 nights stay rather than 1 night. The Doc Martin series of places to see also make stay here great. The scenery was beautiful. After finishing a tour of the UK, Port Isaac's coastline was by far the best we saw. We had a beautiful meal at The Chapel and this would have been one of the best, if not the best, we had since being in the UK.Guest review byGeoffAustralia
