The property was immaculate, carefully designed and subtly decorated for Xmas. Like other guests we loved the wood burner although the heating was very efficient anyway. The decor was to our taste and the car park and garden areas were great. The owner, Elaine, was particularly thoughtful, allowing a slightly earlier entry and providing a welcome hamper, but the effort she made to check we were ok in a particularly nasty storm were most welcome.

What was meant to be a girly weekend for six turned into something much more emotional and meaningful. Our beautiful Jo, who found out she was terminally ill in December, sadly passed just 21 days later. With our aunt also going through an incredibly difficult time battling this cruel disease, we wanted to take some time away to rest, recharge, and find a little peace. This place felt like the perfect spot to do just that. The mountains and surrounding scenery are absolutely breathtaking, so peaceful and grounding. Hearing the sheep and the birds singing each morning brought such a sense of calm. The hot tub was a real highlight both relaxing and therapeutic, and wonderfully accessible, which made a big difference. We were also touched by the little extras like the sticks and marshmallows, simple but thoughtful touches that brought a smile to our faces. Thank you for offering such a beautiful space. It gave us what we truly needed, time to reflect, connect, laugh and honour those we love.

Loved this place. The hot tub is amazing. The beds are comfortable. Heating is amazing so you don't feel the cold, even on the rainy days. Surprised by the high standard of kitchen facilities in the tent. Kids loved it and felt safe throughout the stay so 10/10 from us. Views and beautiful, site is peaceful, stars are amazing at night. Rhayader is a lovely town but there is nothing much there...

Rhayader is a lovely town but there is nothing much there anymore. It is the gateway town to Elan Valley, which is absolutely awesome...... the scenery and the walks are stunning. Couple of nice places to eat in Rhayader .... the Triangle and the Eagle. Theres a lovely riverside walk and the Gigrin is a must to see the Red Kites.

Our host provided a complete induction to our apartment, The space was beautifully presented and was very welcoming to tired travellers. Location was fantastic, close to all we needed, we will definitely be recommending to our friends. We needed to book into the pubs for dinner , if you arrive on a Saturday night, very busy.

Having visited many times I recommend all walks around the various Elan Valley lakes - especially the West side of Garreg Ddu and the south/east side of Caban Coch, the Hafod estate near Cymystwyth via the mountain road, the Devils Bridge railway into Aberystwyth, Aberystwyth, Strata Florida, Ynyslas sand dunes, Llyn Brianne and the exciting mountain road from Beulah to Tregaron. Use your OS maps and see where you can go and what you want to find. Wonderful location in central Wales.

Rhayader is a beautiful part of the world and you are...

Rhayader is a beautiful part of the world and you are surrounded by breath taking scenery and places to visit where you can just relax and get away from it all. A visit to the dams at Elan Valley are a must and Red Kite feeding at Gigrin Farm is an absolute spectacle to behold. Plenty of places to eat & drink in the town and surrounding area and you are only a 45 minute drive from the sea at Aberystwyth. This is my 5th visit to the Town and I will certainly be back.

I have known Rhayadar all my life (72yrs) and have seen the...

I have known Rhayadar all my life (72yrs) and have seen the town change over time. It is now an outdoor activities attraction mainly and undoubtedly has a niche market. Sadly, for me has lost a lot of it's unique character and history.

Nice town. Nice food in Triangle Inn and The Crown pub. Nice tea room round the corner from Penralley guest house. Elan valley visitor centre just a short distance away and worth visiting plus the main reason, driving around the Elan valley which was brilliant.

Lovely flat, clean, good size. We only stayed one night so didn’t use to full potential. Would be ideal for 3-4 days stay self catering. Good location, close to several pubs & shops. We came by motorbike, and although normally no parking, said we could park at back of property Tiered garden to spend time in (we didn’t use as only there 1 night).

Good value for a single night stay en route to Aberystwyth. Easy to find on street parking. Room was clean, comfortable and equipped with tea/coffee plus bathroom soaps/gels. Room only but options close by for dinner (on site pub offers traditional pub grub) and breakfast (pastries in the nearby cafe looked amazing).

It was clean and well equipped for self catering. The enclosed garden was great for our dogs. Close to Rhayader, a small town with plenty of places to eat/drink. Elan Valley a 10 minute drive away. Coastal town of Aberystwyth about an hours drive.
