Buses to the Eden project left from the railway station which was 5minutes away. No buses to the Heligan gardens on a Sunday so had to take taxis. Didn’t visit St Austell but hotel is close to Lost Gardens of Heligan, Looe, Polperro and about 45 minutes from Trebah Gardens in Falmouth. All are well worth a visit. Hotel is also a very short walk from Britannia Inn where we had a lovely meal.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

The best places to visit were Mevagissey and Charlestown, they both had an old world charm. St Austell town centre is dated and needs some TLC , but...
St Austell town centre is dated and needs some TLC , but around the ring round is everything you need to make your stay great. Big Asda, lots of resteraunts, and the usual chains. There is some amazing beaches, countryside, walks in and around St Austell. And , it's a brilliant base for all things Cornwall, very well connected. Carlyon and Petewan beaches are fantastic. St Austell is a run down and neglected town hard to navigate and not much to see. Charlestown is a delightful harbor with a good choice of restaurants and bars a bit of a shame that the harbor is being worked on but it has to be done. Rooms were great, comfortable bed but have to be careful if you’re tall as lots of sloping ceilings around the hotel. Used the swimming pool which was very nice, great breakfast with lots of choice.
