It's a hilly place but that doesn't distract from the town. There's a great pedestrianised shopping area, plenty of fantastic places to eat. Some narrow roads are best avoided when in a car so don't always follow your satnav. The views from the top are fantastic and walking around the bays is refreshing and interesting. If you like Indian food try the Royal Tandori for a good portioned tasty meal.

I have visited Scarborough many times over the years.

I have visited Scarborough many times over the years. For me it is one of those special British resorts. I usually stay at The Grand which is ideally located and has value for money rooms and a superb breakfast room overlooking the beach below. Scarborough has a wealth of eating places and some great pubs. And some very tasty Fish & Chip restaurants on the promenade below The Grand. Scarborough is a great base for discovering the magical coastline from Whitby Robin Hood's Bay and Ravenscar to the north and Filey Bempton Cliffs and Bridlington to the south. And don't forget the North York Moors inland with the impressive North York Moors Railway. For me Scarborough has it all.

Although it was the end of the season, the towns attractions were still open and the people friendly. Obviously hilly, but a steady pace gets you to everything the town has to offer. We based ourselves there for a 4 night midweek break and drove into North Yorkshire to try the many experiences on offer.

Beautiful walks along the esplanade above South Bay. Accessible North and South Bay beaches but Cayton Bay fantastic. Typical seaside amusements if you like that kind of thing but the quieter parts and surrounding countryside including Cleveland Way walks superb. I fell in love with Scarborough.

An old fashioned seaside town, but the geography of the coast is terrific and there are some marvellous eateries should you care to look. Stephen Joseph theatre is always worth a look and the spa is on the comedy circuit for lots of comedians you've heard of. Other acts too...

Enjoyable time can be had. Lots of activities Victorian buildings, cafes and restaurants for all tastes and wallets. Caution. There is an underground car park near the Spa Bridge. Sometimes the sign isn't always clear that it closes and locked up at 9 pm

Stayed as we were attending a concert at Scarborough Spa which was very close to hotel. Lots of on road parking near hotel and we were given a permit when we checked in. The hotel itself was beautiful, very clean, beautifully decorated, friendly staff, room was lovely and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Absolutely perfect, would highly recommend and can't wait to revisit.

Very handsome hotel in The Crescent, Scarborough's best Georgian square. A grand, comfortable, high-ceilinged room with an opulent bathroom and a good view.
