The staff at the Inn were very friendly and made it a welcoming environment on arrival. It was cosy, comfortable and well located (not too far from Dartmoor National Park) in a beautiful area . It was convenient to have access to the restaurant (worth booking a dinner reservation in advance as advised). Parking was readily available (paid lot across the road if you don’t want to park in the street). The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. Our room was well represented by the photos.

We have stayed here several times and once again, Tess and her team were excellent. The New Years eve meal was very very good with excellent service (as usual). We will be staying again as soon as we are able to.

The location was amazing, in the middle of meadows with lovely animals. Peacocks were the best companions ever! Great breakfasts, clean and spacious room and bathroom with both bathtub and shower. Very peaceful place for people who seek for relax. The best stay of our whole journey.

    Travelling around to visit places of interest was quick and...

    Travelling around to visit places of interest was quick and easy or there were moorland walks up to the Tors nearby. Bearslake Inn and the Castle Inn at Lydford were friendly, smart and did good food. The Fountain in Okehampton was cheaper but friendly and offered good value for money. Okehampton station has a lovely little museum about the history of the railway there and the quarry at Meldon where the famous Meldon viaduct is. It's very interesting there and is an area of now dead industry as is a lot of Dartmoor but the clues to the past are there if you know where to look.
