    We attended a family party.

We attended a family party. However, Stoke Upon Trent has lots to offer visitors. Trentham Gardens is beautiful and interesting. But there are a number of tourist attractions and events throughout the year.

    We liked -Trentham Gardens

We liked -Trentham Gardens - the museum of authentic kilns in Longton -the living mining museum. The gold mine. - the wonderful hill walks in the nearby Peak District - the nearby towns of Leeks and Buxton -the friendliness of people - We often had tea or coffee in the local tea-rooms. Very good. - the town is a bit rundown following the end of the industrial era and the measures taken by Mrs Thatcher! But it's worth visiting.

I went to play in the Stoke Chess Congess August 2025, and the Town Hall was great and my nearby accommodation on Cornwallis road was good. Stoke has the feel of a poor working class town, but has it's own vibrancy. Had a great meal with friends at the Sangam next to the Spode Rose Garden. Church yard at St Peter ad Vincula, the Minster, is pleasant and interesting with Wedgewood and Spode memorials plus an amusing standing stone under the Holly tree.

We went to see the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery as well as Middleport Pottery. We thoroughly enjoyed both! We met a number of local folks who were very friendly and kind. While the city seems a bit depressed, it did make for a lovely day trip.

We had a comfortable stay in a very pleasant room. The pub is a friendly local with good real ale and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is a self-service affair in the shared guest kitchen, which we only bothered with one but was fine. It is located in Stoke, not far from other pubs and restaurants, but bear in mind that Stoke (Town) is just one part of Stoke (city) and the city centre itself is in Hanley, a couple of miles to the north. It is handy for Stoke City's ground.

A very spacious flat (especially the bathroom!), clean, with a well-equipped functional kitchen, and comfy large bed. In a quiet though run-down looking street, it's a convenient 10-*minute walk from the Stoke rail station, and about the same time to a couple of supermarkets. The flat is upstairs in an old building, but it has been refurbished to a generally good standard... not 'flash' but cosy and homely. We'd readily stay here again if ever back in Stoke-on-Trent.

An excellent stay at the Borough Arms Hotel. Centrally located, close to all amenities and the train station was only a 5 minute taxi ride away. Fabulous price and lovely, helpful staff. My room was clean, warm and comfortable. I will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Couldn't fault the place, nice relaxed atmosphere and clean and tidy room. Brilliant value for money. I'd have to say probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in for under £100 a night. If I'm ever back in Stoke this will be were I'm staying ❤️

Staff couldn't have been more helpful or kind - nothing was too much for anyone. This is a cheaper hotel of course but the communal areas were comfortable and the rooms were fine 😊
