The Lake District is so much more than just hills and lakes. It is a place that is good for the soul and has some unique shopping areas. The coast line with it's seaside towns complement the hills and lakes. Just wish we had more time but we will be back.Guest review bycarolUnited Kingdom - 10

The scenery is stunning!
The scenery is stunning! Shame about the closeness of the road to our bedroom window! A cooked breakfast would be an improvement! The room was tiny! I did have another 3 days booked for the end of September but cancelled after our stay! Gateway to both the Northern and Southern lakes.
Gateway to both the Northern and Southern lakes. A lot of good restaurants in the general area, but book early if in a large group . Hoards of people so visit important places early e.g. Castlerigg stone circle is MUCH better if you're the only group there. You can feel its 4500 years age. Book steam ferries before you go otherwise availability might be low. Ask prices at tea rooms before buying. We paid £33 for seven teas/coffees.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

Staff were very lovely and welcoming. Room was clean but a little on the small side. Advertised as dog friendly but it was a squeeze with our little spaniel.
