Lovely village but getting very busy. Restaurants were excellent and staff in them very polite and attentive. Akrotiri is a beautiful town. I definitely recommend visiting the Akrotiri archaeological site, but the entrance fee of 20 euros is honestly way too expensive. The place is amazing, with both red and black sand beaches that are truly unique. The food is delicious- we tried several restaurants, and both the service and meals were consistently excellent. Akrotiri Was much quieter than the other side of the island (Oia). The village is small and has the small town feel. I am from a big city in the United States, so Akrotiri was a very different than home. Being Americans, and Black Americans to add, we stood out from the other people we encountered. Akrotiri town is nice.
Akrotiri town is nice. It was quiet, but perhaps we are out of season. We ate at Portobello restaurant. Excellent service and kind waiters. They also speak French. Red Beach was closed due to rock slides. The beach is hard to access, even to observe. Great location to visit the rest of the island. The lighthouse was a close location to view the sunset. Sunsets are a Santorini attraction but are only good on very clear days. If there is a haze, you'll be disappointed.Guest review byJPCanada

It had everything we needed and it is much bigger than it looks in the picture. The location is amazing as it is hidden between walking paths so no cars or any noise and for our 4 nights only one person walked in front of the house. This host alone is the reason to book this house if you have any doubts as she will send you what to see, where to go and explain you everything about Akrotiri. On checkout date our flight back was late in the evening and the staff gave us the opportunity to have a very late checkout at 8PM. for free. Room and pool very clean. lovely patio in each room. Across the road the bar-restaurant offers one of best sunsets views in Santorini.
