We also toured the Temple of Poseidon from Athens while our friends hired a driver and visited Corinth. I was in Athens 40 years ago and little has changed. I have travelled most of Greece and everything then and now seems to be a new experience for any information persons ie how do I get to Olympia? If you can put up with the total lack of help, lack of simple information from information persons, taxi drivers who at every turn feel it is necessary to rip people off then come to Greece. Use Uber! Did the tour from Athens to Meteora which was a long day but great. Greece works on Greek time which can be 30 mins to 1 hour difference with departures! No sidewalks to speak off so be careful when walking or moving with a suitcase. Food cheaper than other European countries. After two great weeks visiting the islands I found Athens a bit of a let down. Graffiti everywhere. Also not used to people smoking everywhere. Not allowed in my country. So many rundown empty buildings. The restaurants and food were incredible. Serving staff were very friendly and made sure you had a good experience.
