Our stay at this hotel was truly enchanting! Set romantically on the hillside of Elati, it offers a spectacular view over the surrounding villages of Zagori and the mountain range – a scene straight out of a fairytale. The rooms are cozy, equipped with everything you need, and the daily cleaning keeps everything neat and fresh. The owners' warm hospitality made our experience even better – spending evenings chatting by the fireplace in the lounge with them was a highlight for us. The breakfast was another delight: plentiful, varied, and featuring delicious homemade pies and pastries that change daily. A lovely experience at the Meliteion. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly. The room is really comfortable and decorated in warm and relaxing tones. I arrived late afternoon and got great advice to hike up to the highest point in the village and watch the sun set over the mountains. Stunning. Great breakfast! Thank you, I will return.

A family hotel in a lovely village,

A family hotel in a lovely village, in my opinion the most worthwhile place in Zagoria. We stayed at the hotel for four nights; Sofia and her two sons, Christos and Theodore were charming, made us feel at home. Spacious rooms, excellent service, generous breakfast. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant with a selection of excellent and delicious dishes. And most importantly, it's their humanity and caring. warmly recommended!

Unforgettable 5 days in Monodendri.

Unforgettable 5 days in Monodendri. On first day, we had a hike from the Village of Vicos, which is a few kilometers down from Monodendri, to the villages of Koukouli and Kipoi, over beautiful stone bridges. The next day we hiked to Lake Drakolimni. On the third day, we visited the Voidomatis River and the beautiful villages of Papingo and Mikro Papingo, and bathed in natural stone baths. Monodendri is an excellent choice for a base if you are visiting Zagori. Village is small and calm, tavernas with excellent food. Stone houses, with stone roofs, excellent view.

Monodendri is located in central Zagori.

Monodendri is located in central Zagori. A couple of interesting places to visit nearby: Monastery of Agia Paraskevi (at the outskirts of the village accessible on foot), and Stone Forest ( >1-hour hiking or 20 min drive). Proximity to Papigo and Aristi (starting point for rafting at Voidomatis River). Short-distance drives to visit characteristic stone arch bridges in the area.

A beautiful and well preserved village, in an area of great natural beauty. The village has some nice restaurants and coffee shops, while the Rizarios Foundation organises interesting exhibitions. Mondendri is an excellent base for exploring the wider area (hiking or by car).

Hotel Monodendri was a great place. As a solo traveler I felt safe and welcome. Chose "Yellow Room". The Manager is very helpful and goes out of his way and shows excellent hospitality. He shares good ideas for itinerary if you have a car and can drive around on your own. Driving there was easy. I was impressed with the Rock Forest. The views are beautiful! There are places to eat in Monodendri walking distance to the hotel. If you have any mobility difficulties, contact manager before booking.

Location in the mountains, town itself and the peace there was a welcome break from the busy other parts of our trip in Greece. The surroundings in the erea is absolute beautiful. Visited mountain tops, did hiking trails, driving stunning mountain roads, natural springs and lakes. Need to have some control over your car, because there are some dangerous roads, but its is worth it. Also the food at the restaurant for dining and included breakfast from the hotel was very good!

Kuria Stathoula makes the hotel a home, from the moment I walked in I felt like a member of my family was welcoming me home. It is a boutique hotel with only 7 rooms. I was given a beautiful two storey room.
