From the moment we arrived at the apartment in Nea Makri, we felt genuinely welcomed. The host was incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive—always available if we needed anything. One moment that really stood out was when she offered us a ride into the city, just out of pure kindness. That level of care isn’t something you come across often, and it made our stay feel more like visiting family than booking accommodation. What impressed us even more was her honesty and desire to help us save money. When we mentioned we were thinking about staying an extra day, she encouraged us to rebook through Airbnb so we could get a better rate. That little gesture spoke volumes about how much she values her guests’ comfort and overall experience. The apartment itself was stunning—fully renovated, spacious, and filled with natural light. The design was inspired by Greek island life, with calming earthy tones, beautiful artwork, and a refreshing breeze that flowed through the space when we opened the windows. It felt peaceful and serene, like a true escape. The living room had a massive 75-inch smart TV that was perfect for cozy nights in, and every bedroom also had its own smart TV, which was a great touch. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with everything we needed, including an espresso machine and welcome snacks that made us feel instantly at home. We were especially impressed by the water filters installed throughout the apartment—not only for drinking but in the showers too. It’s not something you find often, and it made a real difference. Having a washer and dryer was also a huge plus, especially for longer stays, and the high-speed Wi-Fi was flawless throughout the home. One of our favorite features was the complimentary use of two mountain bikes. We took them down to the beach, which is less than a kilometer away, and also explored some beautiful nearby trails. Things could not have been better. Xzenia, our host, pays incredible attention to detail. The place was very clean and very well appointed. We immediately felt like we were at a welcoming relative's home. Communications were well above expectations. Xzenia helped us with local information and the location was quiet and perfect for our needs. We expect to return and will definitely keep this accommodation in mind for our next stay.

This is a great place close to the water and many restaurants and shopping. We walked most places but took a taxi to Marathon. This is a local holiday vacation place so some apartments were closed for the season but the restaurants were open. We loved it.

There are several very good restaurants with various and delicious dishes close to the property. It is possible to enjoy a smashing sunset from the balcony (which was extremely spacious). All in all it is a great value for the money.

The Nea Makri harbour area was a lovely place to pass time...

The Nea Makri harbour area was a lovely place to pass time with great restaurants and bars. Several beaches which are functional rather than destinations. It was a 5 minute walk from our property to one of the small beaches. Judging by the people we encountered, Nea Makri is used by locals rather than tourists. Closing the harbour road at dusk to turn it into a promenade makes it a great place to people watch. We struck up several conversations with friendly locals.

If you have a day or two and you don’t want to stay in the main city of Athens then this is a place you can relax. I think it’s a family owned business and they treat you like personal guests and are very accommodating. Don’t be shy saying hello to them because they sure enjoying taking care of their guests. The pool is big and deep and the atmosphere of the hotel is like going to grandma’s house with old but homie feelings. Breakfast was good, restaurants and the beach are a 5 minute walk and the locals are nice too.

This was the best place we stayed during our road trip through Greece. The property is right on the beach in Nea Makri and because it was during lighter season, we got an upgrade to a beach-front room. This way we were able to see the most beautiful sunrise right from the balcony. The room was spotless, everything was impecable. I would totally recommend this accomodation.

the owner is very nice and available for everything you need. 15 mins walk from the center of Nea Makri and the beach. close to shops and everthing you need. Nice to have a car but not strightly necessary.
