Makarska Riviera is a beautiful destination.
Makarska Riviera is a beautiful destination. Croatian government removed the tool boot fee from the Saint Ilija tunnel and travelers can shorten their travel into the mountains and back significantly and save some money. You have different restaurants so you can pick what you like the most. It is easy to navigate around Tucepi and visit other spots. Sport activities are heavily affected by heat but you always have the swimming and other activities, like boating, parachute gliding and such. Tucepi is a pretty resort approximately 15 minutes' drive from Makarska. The beach is pebbly and the sea beautifully clear. We found one end to be quite windy and the sea choppy, whereas the area closer to the marina was more sheltered. We visited in late September when the season was obviously coming to an end as some bars and restaurants were closed. This is probably the best hotel in Makarska region. Renovated & beautifully decorated, awesome staff (especially Hristijan at the reception), delicious breakfast, clean and big rooms (you have everything you need in the room). The hotel is in the beachfront and the beach is awesome (it can get crowded because there are other hotels nearby). We loved the atmosphere in the courtyard! Even if the balcony was extremely small we have been able to have breakfast there each morning.
